Probably the best meal of my life. The black cod with sake pulp was brilliantly cooked and juicy, as was the mackerel. The eggplant was so well roasted that it tasted slightly caramelized, which paired brilliantly with the rich miso sauce. The vegetable dishes were wonderful as well, especially the hijiki! The staff was super helpful and friendly as well!
We came in from out of town and found this sushi restaurant on an Internet search. This was some of the best sushi I have ever had! The ginger is over the top amazing. Our server AY LA was extraordinary. We felt very taken care of and she really knows how to connect with her customers. The atmosphere was amazing, the stuff outstanding and the sushi exquisite. Do yourself a favor and eat here!
This is good sushi, period! The fish is extremely fresh. I don’t know if they have a cave-cove in the back or what, but it’s the tastiest fish west of LA.It’s the closest sushi restaurant to our house, so we visited a few times the first year they opened. During the first year of the pandemic, we did takeout.Always delicious and beautiful plates with great service.Sometime during the pandemic, the restaurant decided to add a substantial extra charge. It’s understandable to keep the high standard of their food and take care of their staff. However, the amount is higher than any other restaurant in town. I honestly would have preferred to have the food prices go up instead of having an additional cost surprise me on my bill.My boss gave me a gift card that could have stretched to 2 meals for my husband and I, but it actually only covered one outing due to the extra cost.My favorite items to order are the tuna nigiri and the avocado roll. You haven’t had vegan roll like this! The rice is always perfect and the seaweed is actually chewable. Each time someone new walks in the door, the chefs say hello from the sushi bar. I really like that. :)It’s been a busy time since their opening, so I hope they stay around for years to come.
High quality sushi, but very small vegetarian selection and poor service. High quality fish and nice atmosphere. Unfortunately our experience was that when we requested a bottle of wine, they gave us two individual glasses and never came back for refills, and completely missed one of our roll orders despite verbally confirming it at the table. We asked about the missing sushi a couple times and were assured it was on its way. When we got the bill we were told we never ordered it (again, they verbally confirmed it before walking away with the sheet we marked all of the rolls on). This place is fine, but there are other sushi places in Boulder that match us better.Vegetarian options: There are vegetarian options, but only a handful. Ended up getting the pickled daikon radish roll and I believe an avocado roll.
Amazing fish, very fresh! The service is very friendly and fast. We were pleasantly surprised :)
Best and most affordable sushi in Boulder hands down. The fish is always so fresh, they give you great portions of fish on the nigiri and hand rolls. Not to mention the hot food is also insanely good. I’ve tried almost all of the sushi in boulder several times and this is my favorite by a long shot!
Omotenashi means hospitality in Japanese. It’s rare for a restaurant to live up to its name let alone surpass it. This restaurant outperformed on all levels. We walked in and we’re greeted by an extremely kind host named Nan. This was our first time at the restaurant and didn’t know what to expect, but we left overjoyed by the warm, welcome vibes and the incredibly delicious wholesome meal. We are excited to come back time and time again.
Unbelievably fresh sushi and excellent grilled fish and izakaya bites from the kitchen. Definitely the best sushi in Boulder!
Love this place. Full on a Friday night. Many different choices. Shishito tempura and fried squid legs were good. Miso soup is the best anywhere. Pickled veggies were authentic and excellent. Seaweed salad too. And the black cod. Topped off with the freshest uni. Ordered two. Then had to have two more. Not cheap, but worth the price. Service is fast and efficient.
Such great and delicious sushi! A big of an extra service charge for take out but it contributed to compostable packing and the kitchen staff so it was fine but still a little excessive. A little pricier than expected because prices somewhat differed from the menu online but I would still come back because the sushi was so delicious
