We went for dinner last night, and we had a decent experience. There was no wait around 6 PM, so we were shown a booth immediately. Our server quickly took our order. While they were good, it took quite a while for our drinks to get to the table.Once our food was served, the server didn't check back in until we were done and ready for the check. We would have ordered another round of drinks during dinner if our server would have dropped by.The Pepperoni Rolls and the calzone were delicious; the food is definitely consistent. We'll probably come back at some point for the food and the impressive beer list.
Got me a Beer Cheese Burger and a flight of some crazy variety of brews! The beer cheese in Old Chicago is always great and the burger was bomb for the first time. The food took a bit longer then I would have expected it too and the waitress seemed a bit distracted however.
First time coming here and was disappointed. Service was good, but food didn’t really meet the bar. I ordered a Mai Tai (which was good) and their featured Beer Burger. Meat tasted like nothing, I literally had to season the meat myself with the salt and pepper that was on the table. I would recommend to spend your money somewhere else.
Not an ideal spot and here’s why:- ordered a salad to split with everyone and the kale was yellow and wilted- chose the “Detroit-style” Farmer’s Daughter pizza and it barely had any flavor. All you could taste was the balsamic vinegar, which the pizza was completely covered. The pizza was not really done well enough, too soft, to make it a Detroit style pizza. Finally, the arugula on top was wilted and tasteless. The drink selection was great and the waitress was really nice. I believe I ordered a beachfront IPA, which was actually really good. We also noticed a cook/bus walking in and out of the kitchen having either smoked or vaped. When it comes to cooking food, you shouldn’t be doing that in a restaurant, at least when it’s open.Overall, we were pretty disappointed in our Old Chicago experience and don’t really envision ourselves coming back.
I understand staffing issues, but this wasn't it. Pure apathy and ignorance is something else. Takeout station should not be at the host/hostess stand where there is mass confusion about who is picking up or waiting for a table. I ordered and paid online for pickup and had to wait for 15 minutes as I saw my pizza sitting under a heat lamp. I finally had to go grab another staff member just so I could get someone to hand it to me since everyone was being completely ignored. Done with this place. Now worth the expensive prices when it's not fresh by the time you can eat it.
On this day (Thursday) the restaurant part was not open at 4 so we sat in a booth at the bar. The single waitress there was super attentive, got us our food and drinks quickly even though she had about ten tables. The two pizzas we ordered were cooked perfectly. 10 out of 10 for this visit!
Nice restaurant, unfortunately hit by pandemic shortages (no Alfredo sauce for pizza or Sam Adams seasonal beer). Wait staff was friendly and helpful. Booth table and seat backs were wobbly. Food was good but the menu is smaller than I remember. The pizza selection seemed to be missing a number of choices.
Very disappointing. Have given many chances, but has always underdelivered. Multiple (3+) times to0-go orders have been messed up, including wrong ingredients on pizzas, not giving correct sides (which cost approx $2 extra), and just generally mediocre food. Finally, the last time we went (and last time we will ever go) my partner got their grilled chicken sandwich which was raw!! (see pics) Pathetic
dining room was empty, took 20 minutes to get our drinks ordered, asked how many wings come in a tall order for $12.99 - was told 19. Didn't sound right or that's a heck of a deal, asked waitress to double check - comes back and said 9 but there is actually 12. Ordered a medium pizza, she came back and said it only comes in large. So we went with the large but got a medium and was charged for a medium. Food was not hot, barely warm. Waitress tells me that she appreciates my understanding as there were only 2 of them, yet again the dining room was empty. This waitress had 3 tables. The other one had more and seemed to do just fine. I didn't understand anything that was happening so didn't appreciate words being put in my mouth. 40 minutes later we got our food, no way it took that long to make. She disappeared a lot for long periods of time so her other tables were getting frustrated as well. The table next us only got half their order, she admitted that she made a mistake and didn't enter it all in. The customer even got up and went to the bar to get his own drinks. Tips are earned, not given for just showing up.
The kitchen is a joke. Only come here if you have 3 hours to burn as they try over and over to make the food safely.Buffalo chicken rolls were full of raw dough on the inside. Surprised I didn't get sick. Honky tonk individual pizza was missing half of the listed toppings. No tortilla strips, cilantro, or the cilantro- lime ranch. The pizza also came out bone dry so it was probably done and sat in the window for awhile. The apps took 45 minutes to come out then the entrees came out 2 minutes later. Would have sent it all back to the kitchen to try again but we had a movie to catch in 45 minutes. You are better off eating the bushes out front than eating the food inside.
