Great food! Service is slower and better suited for smaller parties. We had a group of 7 and meals came out very staggered. Compote drink was red colored and has a lovely spice that adults liked and kids didn't. Kids loved the waffle and pasta. Adults and kids loved the Olivir salad and stuffed cabbage and we got an ant hill for dessert that was yummy. All food was excellent flavor. Tried buckwheat for the first time in years. Chicken ragout was very good and the desserts that are breakfast too were fabulous. TV was on a channel with fish that was lovely and relaxing, but had a shorter repeat cycle for people who were staying so it wasn't as enjoyable after 30mintues.
I adore Russian cuisine, and the examples at Masha and the Bear are delightfully delicious. A quaint little "hole in the wall", Masha's is a reasonably priced little eatery with food that far outpaces the prices. The soups are incredible, and the entrees are varied, but all incredibly tasty. You can't really go wrong at Masha's!
This place is small but great! The kids loved it and they did delicious salad and even custom eggs for me when I went! The kids loved the cute breakfast waffle meals and the staff was really kind!
We tried the Kvass drink, Borcht, meat soup Dumplings, and pelmeni dumplings. Previously had the strogganoff, and so far , we loved the combination of all the dishes. Definitely will be going back
Went to this Cafe after seeing and reading a few reviews. My wife is from Russia and after simply seeing the name of the place she was excited to go while we were in the Denver area. My first impression upon sitting down was that the menu was very limited. The dish I chose came with mash potatoes and much to my dismay, they were obviously instant potatoes. Even I can make instant mashed potatoes taste and have the texture very near to freshly mashed potatoes but no such effort was made here. Upon leaving, my wife casually made comment that she was not impressed with the food and she tried something of everything we ordered (3 different dishes in total).I give it 2 stars for the general quality, lack of an attempt to be authentic, and for being over-priced for mediocre food. The Russian woman who provided service was excellent, no problems there. Just had hoped or expected more from a place with so many good reviews. Confused how they could have accumulated so many, to be honest.Edit: Watered down instant potatoes can never be confused with regular mashed potatoes.
Very authentic and tasty Russian food! My wife and I stopped in for lunch and ended up trying a whole bunch of menu items, including borscht, plov, cabbage rolls, potato pancakes, the peach cookie and honey cake. Everything was incredible! The service was very friendly and the prices very reasonable, we can't wait to go back! I highly recommend stopping by and getting some authentic Russian food!
Flavorful, filling, all homemade, highly recommended. Clean and cozy, very relaxed and excellent service. My teenager was impressed, it was our first time having Russian food. We'll be back to try other dumplings on the menu for sure.
We came here just to try something different. Man oh man, what a treat this was! Absolutely order the borscht! It is completely amazing! Everything was plentiful and flavorful, from the appetizers to the entrees and their huge selection of desserts. Get the honey cake. Think tiramisu without the ground coffee. Light, delicate not over sweet. Truly a gem worth visiting. Also, the staff is awesome!
Ordered through DoorDash tonight and very happy to have found this place! We had the stroganoff, tefteli, potato dumplings, and peach cookies. We were missing a cookie, but everything was absolutely delicious.Definitely will be dining in at some point in the future.
After visiting a number of Russian restaurants in Brooklyn, Chicago and a few other cities, this cozy place is hands down the best one I’ve visited so far in 16 years living in the US. Everything is made from scratch and you can tell how much attention to detail they put in to ensure every flavor is 100% authentic. This will definitely bring back childhood memories of babushka’s, or mom’s, cooking. Masha and the Bear is a must if you are visiting Denver or live in the area. Can’t wait to go back and try everything else on the menu!
