Since they don’t have delivery I tried to call and order ahead. After 4 tries - two busy signals and two “we can’t take your call right now” recordings - I drove over to order in person. Arrived at 7:40 pm and was told they were no longer taking orders (they close at 8). A girl was chatting on the phone, leaning against the wall, so perhaps that’s why I couldn’t call and order?
Tried the Lava Chicken (instead of my fav Loco Moco) - hot ? and furious alright! I should have added extra veggies to even it out. Otherwise, it was great!
I loved this place but since the lady in the front has left it has went down hill. It used to be very clean and now its nasty. All of the bottles on the table are crusty and not cleaned. The counter where you pay is so nasty. It's almost like no one has tried to clean anything. The lady working the front needs help too. She is so busy and can't focus on anything.
Will never eat here again.To start - the people working there are absolutely miserable and even brought down my own mood. They would not talk to each other, and didn’t talk to us either. The young white lady had the nastiest attitude and didn’t even bother coming over to ring us up. Instead she continued to “sweep” the floor, which is impossible, because the restaurant is absolutely disgusting.The other girl who took our order just stood behind the plastic barrier staring at her device, and even though she couldn’t hear us, didn’t try to correct it. It’s no wonder she gave us a side of noodles instead of vegetables like we asked.The last time I ate here I got sick, but I wanted to try it again, just in case it was something else. Nope, it’s them! The food they gave me is literally rotten, my husband took 1 bite and immediately spit it out. I should have known and walked away once I saw how dirty the store was.Used to be my favorite food, but I won’t be eating here again. Such a shame.
Good food, but lately service has been very bad. Younger waiters are so terrible and disrespectful. I used to be usual at this place, but not anymore.
Update: Came back again in a few weeks, and it was much better. It still took a while to get food, but they were training a new front employee. The same server from my previous visit was actually very nice.Yes, it was busy, but no greeting to anyone waiting in the queue. I had to change my order because of a dietary restriction, but the service woman seemed agitated. She did try to recommend less expensive changes, so I will note her good intent here. The woman behind me at the line was skipped while the service woman helped the customer after her. I tried to correct the mistake but never had the chance. Maybe it was just a bad day and short handed, so I will try again with this location to see if the situation is different. The food was excellent.
Always consistent, fresh, speedy, and friendly. Manager is so so nice and friendly!! COME HERE FOR COMFORT FOOD!
Food is good. Depends on who is taking your order for good customer service. It was a first had not ever had Hawaiian food. Line is always long. Try it for yourself.
I love both places. Always sit here and just grub out and imagine I'm in hawaiia or trinidad. Short ribs are awesome, fried ships, Lua Lua pork always makes me feel better.
The macaroni salad tastes like it was purchased from Wal-Mart. The bbq tasted as if it was thrown on the flat top and then tossed in a terrayaki bbq sauce. The rice tasted like plain sticky rice with no additional flavor. The bbq mixed plate was definitely not worth the $11.
