This cake was for my daughter's Sweet 16 Birthday party. The cake was absolutely beautiful and very delicious. I puchased the butterflies and topper separately and they were happy to add them for me so I didnt mess anything up. I would definitely recommend trying them out, you won't be disappointed.
Terrible customer service. Was very rude to me on the phone. If I'm coming in for a happy occasion I certainly wouldn't want to be met with less than average treatment. Karen herself was equally as rude. If you want to be treated like you're the actual customer and not an ignorant child (even when you know what you are talking about) trust me, go elsewhere.
Went in to get a custom cake for my daughter's first birthday. Val was on the phone telling someone how they placed the order with the wrong store and was rude to them. So, we went up after she finished her call and showed a picture of what we're looking for. She rolled her eyes and said "that's an easy $2000" and continued on, throwing in they don't do any discounts, including military (we didn't even ask). She automatically assumed we wouldn't be paying decent money for a cake and was very rude. Glad we left.

I've been going to Cakes by Karen for all of my special occasion cake needs for YEARS. I've purchased multiple cakes (The pictures shown are just what I have on my phone) and I've never been disappointed. Val is beyond amazing and has always made sure the cakes I ordered were to my specifications and even if I didn't have a clue what the specification was, Val always came through and made sure the details of the cake came out beautifully.Over the years, Cakes by Karen has become a wonderful part of my life and I'm so thankful for them. They've helped me celebrate birthdays, helped me through the passing of my mother and will be also have the honor of being my graduation cake when I graduate from college next year :)If you want a delicious cake (or cupcakes), excellent customer service and overall the best cakes in Aurora, Cakes by Karen is the place.
A wonderful first experience! We will definitely order again. Candance (sp?) took my order, was incredibly kind and helped me make sense of the world of BTS (Korean Pop) as far as cake decorating went. She made it easy to order and the cake did not disappoint. So delicious, travelled perfectly, warmed up to temperature exactly as stated. Very full tummies for everyone at the bday party. Thank you!
I ordered a cake for my daughter’s baby shower. It was a 2 tier cake but it was so beautiful I did not want to mess it up by adding it on top so we just set it on the side instead. The customer service at cakes by Karen was amazing. I will definitely be back to order another cake for our next baby shower in the next month. Ms. Val Is amazing and super helpful ! The customer service is great . The cakes are delicious and beautifully decorated. I give them a description of what I'm looking for and they come out better than expected everytime.
My cakes came out so Beautiful, Val so very helpful and informative from beginning to end. She kept me updated on everything and did a great job bringing my wedding cake vision to life. Everybody loved the cakes. The prices were also very reasonable which is a plus for a wedding. Thanks again Val we truly appreciate it!!!!
