Very bad experience. I came here at 3:30 pm and asked from menu dinner steak with shrimp. She said that they are closing and cleaning fryer and will not make shrimp with it. Then I asked if possible two eggs on the side. She said No, it's not breakfast time. I told her I'm ordering dinner steak even without shrimps that's fine, but I want eggs with it. She said again No. If you are turning down and ruin the appetite of customers then you are really bad at customers service. First, Items are missing from the menu. Second, and you are not willing to make it up by providing an other option. Plus, you get paid and we are not requesting food for free. At 3:30 pm what if someone ordered burgers from your menu with fries ?. So you wouldn't serve fries because you are cleaning and closing the fryer?I have never seen such a crappie place that grill is ON and can't make two eggs, Such a lazy staff. I had to walk out. This is not the way you make business and increase the customer.
We arrived and were told to sit anywhere. We sat and waited for menus for 15 minutes. The table next to us was seated after us and had their menus, drinks and food long before we did. The menu clearly warned that they charge $2.50 to share food, it is printed several times throughout the menu. Dining with children, sharing is a regular occurrence. I did not like feeling that I was doing something wrong sharing with the kids. It took another 20 minutes for a server to take our order. I had the Country Fried Steak, which had been cooked too long tasted burnt, and was difficult to eat. They had the standard biscuits and gravy, I needed to add salt and pepper. Scrambled eggs and fried potatoes also came with the meal. Not a great meal, probably will not be back.
I have lived in Yucaipa for 12 years and have gone to the Oak House for breakfast many times and I have always enjoyed it. Great family that owns/runs the place. My wife and I went here yesterday late morning for breakfast and sat in the patio. A chicken was walking around our tables which we thought was humorous but as I was eating my ham and eggs, a chicken feather landed on our table. Now, although my breakfast was the bomb, I don't want any extra's thrown into the meal if you know what I mean. Time for the chickens to hit the roost.
A family favorite, for sure! Family owned and operated. Super friendly, attentive staff. Great atmosphere. We love their breakfasts, especially the french toast! Their burgers are so good!
Finally tried this restaurant...Portobello mushrooms dinner was okay, my friend tried the ? Lamb Chops, baked potato was cold not cooked correctly. I would suggest going to this restaurant on weekends only when dinner room is open. A little disappointed but I'm willing to try it again.
Great breakfast!! Love the whole country cowboy feel. Waitress was very helpful. We were able to pay from our table, quick and easy. Big portions. They have amazing Chilaquiles red or green. Very spicy!We drove in from Mentone, and will definitely be coming back! Loved the live chickens and birds they had outside.
I have no complaints , food is great, hospitality is very nice, and they have awesome liver and onions which alotof restaurants do not offer anymore. Great atmosphere. Thank you Oak House! ?
