I tried a salad (good), beer batter fries (very good) Teriyaki chicken sandwich which was disappointing. Thin piece of chicken (dry) with provolone cheese and a piece of pineapple. The decor is nice. They have at least 12 TV's on the walls. Plus 4 more in the patio. I was there at 4:30pm on a Friday and they had 5 people eating. I will go back and try something different.
Went for a late lunch around 3:00pm with my wife. She ordered what she said was a very good pastrami sandwich. I ordered the Woody’s steak sandwich claimed to be similar to a Philly Cheesesteak. It tasted OK but every bite had small inedible pieces of gristle. I kept eating the first half of the sandwich thinking the first few pieces of gristle were isolated. Nope, I finished the 1st half sandwich with a little pile of gristle on the side of my plate. Ever the optimist I took one bite of the second half but again was pulling gristle out of my mouth. When asked, “How was your food?” I told the wonderful waitress the truth. “Mine was awful” and explained the problem with the meat. I suggested that they not serve this to other customers or they will lose customers.A short while later the manager (per the waitress) said since I ate half they would reduce the sandwich price by 50%. No “sorry it was so bad or thank you for bringing this to our attention.” Plus it should have been the manager who came over to talk to me. I was not looking for a discount! The restaurant itself is nice. The menu has plenty of causal dining options and per my wife a pretty good pastrami sandwich. Our waitress was the only one working all of the tables. She did a great job. But given the manager’s indifference I’m afraid we won’t be back.
Good food and lots if choices. Actually it was very hard to decide what to get as it all sounded good. The chicken pot pie was vwey good. My party also had the bbq chicken wrap and she loved it. And another person had the cinnamon French toast and she loved that. The peach cobbler and sundae were both very good.
I called in to ask about what they served in the menu and the lady her name was Rose picked up the phone. Right aways she had an annoyed tone when I asked her what they served there because I wanted something for breakfast and had never been there. She said she wouldn't be able to tell me the entire menu and to look online. I just ended up not ordering here. Treat your clients more nicely a bad attitude won't get you far.
Decent food and staff. I was pleased the times I came. Sadly, waited around 20+ minutes for a to go order of chili cheese fries before I gave up and asked for a refund.
Many years since I visited Woody's Diner -- 1975. They recently added a Yorba Linda location. Very nice. More polished than what I remembered from Huntington Beach. Full bar service. Fantastic dinner. Larger portions makes the prices become reasonable. Definitely get the side salad. Definitely plan on taking half home. (Feb 22)
Overal a great place but seems like they lack in certain areas that makes me not want to come back. Certain things like literally serving raw fries and taking 20 minutes to bring me a milkshake to the point where I just cancel it just seem to make it not worth it.
I had never been to Woody's for breakfast, always thought of it as a burger and shake place. I was pleasantly surprised that they have a decent breakfast menu and the food was good!
Came Sunday for lunch. Service was great, we sat out in back patio that had pretty good protection from elements. Trains ran behind & below, so could be a bit loud at times. I think the only seating for large groups is in patio -sorry, no pic. Loved the onion rings! Had parmesan breaded chicken sandwich with provolone and marinara and coleslaw. Coleslaw tasted pretty bitter to me, so I traded for onion rings. (I don't return things usually.) Marinara was tasty (had mine on the side), bread was nicely cooked with parmesan on outside. Chicken breading was light, but seemed overcooked. Chicken was very stringy and tough. To be fair, my friend had it the night before and said chicken was good, not tough, etc. I would come again and try something else in case my experience was a one off.
Really good food. I got the beefeater sandwich with onion rings and the carnitas fries. Both are delicious. The sandwich comes with grilled peppers which gives it a lot of flavor. The onion rings were also very good, not just a bunch of bland batter. The fries have gravy, cheese, and carnitas. It's almost like poutine, really delicious. I'm so glad this place is here now and I'll definitely be coming every few months.
