I worked here almost 20 years ago. COVID ruined the few fresh perks that made this chain stand out. After living in San Francisco and New York I can clearly say the problem with the chain is nothing is fresh or juicy anymore. Most ingredients are dry and bland, microwaved tortillas (which isn't new) but the chicken is always overcooked.Wish the chain owners would stop rotating random menu items and revisit the focus on fresh salsa (bar) and juicy chicken.I can get dry chicken anywhere.

Got tacquito/salad duo. It was excellent. Would order again. Taquitos were hot. Greens were super fresh and cilantro dressing was great and they actually gave me enough!

My visit to this El Pollo Loco was not the best. In the drive thru, I ordered a Classic Chicken Burrito with Extra Cheese. I did not hardly any cheese on my burrito. I also ordered Chicken Nachos without Sour Cream, I specifically said NO SOUR CREAM. I got about 3 tablespoons of Sour Cream on my Nachos. So nearly half of it was ruined and I could not enjoy it. The staff, cooks, are not preparing the chicken properly for the Nachos. There were several pieces of gristle in my Nachos. What really upset me was...I asked for Four, (4), Avocado Salsas. I received two Avocado Salsas. They were in small containers with hardly any salsa in them. I am very sad. I will not return to this El Pollo Loco.Addt'l Info.:My order was placed in the Drive-Thru, just after 8pm on 1/27/2022.

I called in advance to see if they accept EBT, I ran my card and it was declined three times, I had over $500 on my card! Sick of this nightmare and over it, I paid $22 cash and left me broke!! Complete B.S!

This place has been “closed” during their open hours the last few times I’ve come. I don’t even know why I bother anymore. The employees inside are always hanging out and just ignore me trying to get their attention to find out why their drive through is open and lights are on but they won’t answer a phone or acknowledge me at the window. Very rude & unprofessional. Clearly there’s nobody in charge to run this business properly.

Went to get food at 7pm today (Saturday) and there were two employees inside. Doors were locked and they were refusing to take orders through the drive thru. Signs said dining room was supposed to be open until 8pm and drive thru until 930pm. The employees refused to acknowledge any of the customers, letting them sit in the drive thru for an extended time before the customer realized that they weren't taking orders. This was my first time trying this location, because the Anaheim Hills location has recently taken a turn for the worse as well. Looks like El Pollo Locos are on the decline fast.

Update....Apparently you can still go in but the doors are locked, you literally have to catch someone opening the door......yet they say the dining room is closed.....

I posted the wrong review, I thought it was going to in-n- out.The food we got at El Pollo Loco was horrible, chicken was so overcooked and dry. We got the half chicken meal and I couldn't even tell what the pieces were except the leg. Never eating there again.

When you get the double check and nachos this was to have creamy cheese on it I got nothing this is ridiculous now I try to also calling them down know what's going on and they keep hanging up this place is really horrible

Been coming for years but something is up. Waited for 36 min in like tonight. Heard some profanity being used by the coworkers. Heard the general manager just left or something. Probably a covid situation but no doubt going downhill. Quality of food and overall level of service to customer.
