Cake was very dry and not good at all. This review is on the white chocolate coconut bundt cake. Maybe I received a stale cake? Regardless, for the price of this VERY expensive cake, I was expecting a moist delicious cake. I had to go out and buy another cake as this was for a birthday celebration. So not worth it! No issues on delivery. The cake arrived on time and properly packaged and intact to Texas.
I ordered a single triple layer white chocolate fudge cake ($55) that serves 6-8 people and 6 pieces of coffee cake ($4 something a piece). They both were very dry. I suppose if you like it more dry this place takes the cake, literally. Had one slice of the cake and had to gave it away cuz it was too dry. I also had the coffee cake which has walnuts on top… best to skip it all together cuz it was also dry. I think I wasted my $80 order. I hope the person I gave my cake to, enjoyed it MORE than I did. i dont think I will ever go back. Becuz of this i might just make my own cake.4/14/22 UPDATE— Portos has a whole round coffee cake for $9. I got ripped off sadly— never coming back to Doan’s again. The bday cake and coffee cake were all thrown away, none of my family liked it.
We love Doan’s bakery there is not a birthday or a special occasion in our family without it. The consistent flavor and perfection in every single cake, cupcake or cookies is amazing. For over a decade, I've read/ heard about celebrities raving about this cake they received from Tom Cruise. In 2021, I finally decided to try this White Chocolate Coconut Cake for my birthday. Wow! This one really lives up to the hype. I've decided this will be my birthday cake every year moving forward. Their chocolate chip cookies are also top notch. Everything I've tried here has been wonderful and worth the calories.
This bakery was highly recommended by a co-worker and I decided to give them a try so on 3/08/22 My sister & I purchased 2 cakes that looked very beautiful and delicious But to our surprise they were dry and hard cakes... We will not purchase from this bakery again .

Yumm! Got their delicious desserts twice now! So good! When I discovered this place I had to check it out because of so many people walking past the salon next door with cake boxes. There was a constant coming and going. I’m not surprised! Awesome deliciousness! Might check with them on wedding cake options. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Delicious! Stopped in to get some warm yummy tea and a box of croissants and cookies for my office. The space is so warm and inviting + staff and owner were very friendly. Everything was a hit when my co-workers tasted the treats! I'll definitely be back for more and I can't wait for what is in store for this new local shop!
Getting a pie for Thanksgiving from Doan's was the most delicious, most wonderful experience I've ever had in a bakery. I knew deciding on the Monday of Thanksgiving week to get a dutch apple pie from Doan's was waaaaay too late but I was treated with kindness although they already had a 15 person wait list. So I bought a couple buntlets to assuage my disappointment. They were incredible but I ate them before I could get a pic, lol. I returned Wednesday morning to see if there were any cancellations. There weren't so I bought a bunch of turkey shaped shortbread cookies and got an assurance I'd get a call if there were any cancellations. I also got a chocolate pecan bar to nosh. It was better than I could ever have imagined ~ freaking sublime! Already in my happy place from the pecan bar, when I got the call that there was a (barely) broken pie for me, I was ecstatic! Now Doan's wouldn't sell a pie with a broken crust to their customers but I had made a special request that I'd happily take one. The pie and turkey cookies were the hit of my Thanksgiving dinner!! I believe the incredible topping on the pie is made with fairy dust ~ it's just that magical. I cannot say enough heartfelt thanks to the amazing folks at Doan's for making my Thanksgiving dinner the absolute BEST ?
Lemon cheesecake is amazing. Nice folks here very friendly to the community. If you're looking for a ma and pop type place look no further. I will say parking is pretty sus so good luck with that.
