I'm commenting on my first experience and what I ordered. At 3:30pm I ordered lasagna for one of their $14 combo meals that includes a drink, delicious salad and roll. The lasagna was taste-test size, 2inches x 3inches x1-1/2inch deep, surrounded by 7" of sauce. A meatball was included since the lasagna slice occupied such a small space in the 7-8" foil serving bowl. I estimate that 6 of Lascari's lasagna servings would have filled the bowl.Add to that grief, the lasagna tasted like anyone makes or heats-up at home, average or slightly below. It was mostly pasta with very little meat. I can get a sausage-loaded heat-it-up entire tray of lasagna from Costco for $9 that would generously serve 4 guests. It's possible that ordering other items on their menu might go better, but I won't know because I won't be going back after this first-timer's experience. $14 + tax for such a small portion is beyond ridiculous.
I have been to many Italian restaurants and I must say Lascari's is very good. Their baked ziti is awesome. My all time favorite lunch from them is the Turkey ABC. Their hidden location and limited parking belies the delicious Italian food and service that awaits inside. We have been eating at Lascari's since we discovered the in Brea years ago. However, I have never had a bad meal there, and most of what they serve at least merits a 4 out 5 stars. They also have a great selection of gelato and their Tiramisu is as good as any I've ever had.
Great service and great chicken Parm sandwich. For a party of four we ordered 4 large sandwiches of different varieties. Then split them with one other person. It's hard to pick just one. The roast beef was lean and juicy. The other two sandwiches were cold subs. Delicious also (just took s bite of each--but great as always) The bread, cold cuts and ratio of those to lettuce and dressing was perfect. And of course the chicken Parm--better eaten by me as take out cuz i get pretty primal on that sandwich. The chicken was moist and tender and the bread was soft yet could hold the sauce without getting soggy.
First time having lascaris, called the store for a pick up order. Got chicken pesto and chicken alfredo pasta, one with soup and one with salad. Both pastas are delicious and very nice servings! Both pastas come with sourdough bread as well which was delicious. They forgot my soup and after I called they quickly dispatched a delivery boy to drop off the soup even after closing time which I greatly greatly appreciate! They even gave me a free 16oz soda. Great service the whole time made better by great food. Will be coming back soon! Thanks!!!! Love!
Ordered spaghetti with meatballs, lasagna, minestrone soup, cannoli’s along with pistachio gelato and spumoni gelato. Delicious and the gelato is fantastic. We loved it so much that I just called in for a repeat of my last order and she had it. So another delicious dinner for Hubby and me! You must try their food as it doesn’t get any better! Plus their staff is so gracious! Pleasure doing business with this amazing restaurant/deli.
I used to love lascaris growing up. But I wasn't pleased with the quality of the food this time. I ordered Alfredo for me and my children. It tasted more like watery cream than a rich cheese sauce, the chicken was hard and dry. I also ordered the meatball sub for my boyfriend. The meatballs tasted like they were mixed with mostly bread and not very much meat. The meatballs lacked flavor. I also bought dessert, chocolate dipped lace cookies and slice of cheese cake. the lace cookies were stale but at least the cheese cake was good. I don't like to leave a review about one of my favorite places growing up but the food lacked flavor and overall was not worth what I paid.
Daughter got her first haircut nextdoor. We live in East Los so we never knew this place existed. Glad we got lunch there! I was raised in Pedro and I haven't had a sandwich or pizza this good unless I go to Pedro. This place is good! Fresh like Gulianos and bread to die for! We will be coming back!
Idk…I ordered a soup and large sandwich, and they were so dumb they staples an empty bag together, and delivered it to me. No one at the deli, nor the delivery guy noticed that the bag was freaking empty!! I had to drive all the way to Lascaris to get my sandwich. For the price, the food just isn’t that good. I’ve tried many times, ordering different things, and it’s just not something to write home about, for me at least, anyways. Probably won’t eat there again…at least for a very long time…totally disappointing. I’m bummed!
I order from there catering menu, the price was very responsive for what I order.I order for 50 people there Italian style sandwiches also some vegetarian sandwiches. It included a green salad, Pasta salad and all there condiments. It didn't included paper plates, forks it was my fault cause I took it for granted us that it was included with the sandwiches. They staff was very friendly and helpful. Most of the staff volunteered to help me out very nice of them.
I don't see all the whoop whoop. I ordered a BLT sandwich and paid $2 extra for avocado. It was the worst BLT I've ever had and the avocado was brown and tasted spoiled. I didn't even finish half before I tossed the whole thing. Too bad because the place gets rave reviews and I paid premium bucks for a bad sandwich. I'm sorry I couldn't give a better review. I wouldn't recommend the place to anyone.
