This is tex-mex at its best, folks, and it feels oh so good going down. Grab the two puffy taco combo (they recommend the Guizada and the Picadillo, and they ain't wrong), and be sure to wash it down with their homemade lemonade, you can thank me later. Besides, how often do you have the opportunity to use the word puffy when ordering food! Now go on now, ya hearIG: kay_okay_eat

Both people at the location were very friendly to me and every person that went up to the counter; even in the hot weather 92*F, they took my order with a smile and even chat with customers that came up to pickup their orders. Only been twice and both times were pleasant. Just a heads-up it's Cash only, worth the trip for puffed tacos!2x Carne asada, 2x Carnitas, take-out, and had it with (from my fridge) cool crisp hard aple cider and gingerale at home. *sip* Ahhh.

Gotta try the Puffy Tacos! They come out hot in temperature and fresh as can be. I recommend getting the Strips Texanas (chips with blended guac, cheese and salsa) to accompany the meal. Plus you can use the strips to pick up the droppings from these messy tacos.Make sure to bring cash! This is a CASH ONLY establishment. I recommend a minimum of $10 per person.I drove an hour to try this Southern California treat, well worth the LA traffic.

The puffy fried taco shells are very good and definitely unique, but the filling is so wet that by the time I got my food home (<1 mile away) it had soaked through the bottoms and my tacos completely fell apart. What a mess to eat. Also, I can’t give full marks with such a horrible parking situation in the middle of the suburbs. Somehow, someway, they need to add more spaces.

This place is a childhood favorite from back when they were located in La Habra on Imperial Blvd over 40yrs ago. We now live out in Riverside but still make the drive about every month or so for the 1 of a kind Puffy Tacos. There’s nothing like them with all their overfilled goodness. Only 2 locations exist, so you got to try this one unless you want to travel to Texas. Hopefully we’ll make it out there someday to try their location with the Cantina!!

Great customer service. Interesting puffy taco & its yummy!

Best taco hands down in town. The taco is worth the price as is seeing the cool memories posted on the wall with celebrities whose visited this establishment in the past.

Authentic tex-mex flavors with a unique and fun take on a taco shell. Salsa needs significant improvement and had no spice and minimal flavor. We got two puffy tacos. They were awesome. A crispy light crunch and filling choices that were solid and flavorful if a bit dry.My major complaint is the puffy taco we got with the combo plate was a disaster. Eaten mere seconds at an outside table after (to-go) service, the beef guisada (stew) on the plate had effectively steamed the shell under the aluminum cover and rendered it a soft squishy oily mess. Unpleasant texture. Needs to be wrapped and served separately in the combo. Still ate it :-D

Cash only. They know what they are doing! A million other tacos around, but if you eat one that's not puffy....you have made a mistake I won't make again. SO. SO GOOD! DO IT.

Quick in and out take out at my favorite Tex-Mex spot in Whittier, got the Enchilada plate today and it was excellent.
