Really good food! Their ceviche is really tasty and the only negative was there was no mayo in my torta but really thats the ONLY thing ?Really liked the food!
I'm always in search of a good Mexican restaurant just like I am with Chinese food. What I have to say about this place- the staff was friendly, the service was speedy, and the food was delicious. I would definitely recommend trying this place if you're in the area and in the mood for authentic Mexican food.
Food is bad! I ordered 2 crispy chicken tacos(minimum order of 2) not an option, so I thought I was getting fresh taco shells, yea right! Tacos were out a minute later. Lettuce and a sprinkle of cheese is what I got. No sourcream. The food is flavorless. Their so called Aguas Frescas are actual fountain drinks. My family ordered menudo, discolored and not great. Don't see what the hype is all about.
If you order take out, make sure you open the boxes. This is our enchilada taco combo. They forgot the taco. When I asked to get a partial credit they would not unless we drove back to show them the food. Here it is. Not that good of an enchilada either.
The real deal. True gem of authentic mexican cookery. Hands down the best, most delicioso salsa Rojo ever made. Prove me wrong. They will sell you a quart for 10 bucks and I'm only sorry I didn't get two. Serious La Raza compadre!
I love this place so much. It’s so good. The vegetarian burrito is fire. I love their little baby burritos too. They’re so good. I like to dip the baby burritos in the beans that come with it. It’s good. I swear. 11/10 recommend this place. Good pricing too so you can eat here more often! Haha. So good.
New taqueria in College Greens. Not impressed at all. No seasoning on the food, it was super bland. Rice was very dry and also bland. Could have used some corn maybe in the rice and a broth/sauce to keep it from drying. Tacos were also over priced for under seasoned food. I got my husband asada and pastor and neither were worth the $2.50 they are charging. I had my favorite dish which is what I usually order to see if the restaurant is going to be worthy or not and they failed. Camarones Al mojo de Ajo (garlic shrimp) also needs seasoning but not just salt, butter and garlic. It was watery and just did not live up to my standards. I guess since it's in the Greens it's more for the "gringos" because for a real Mexican, I can't see myself going back there. I got a rep to protect.
Had some carne asada tacos from here and it's not so bad. The onions they add are huge little chunks and wish they were alot smaller to be honest. The carne asada meat is pretty tasty just wish it was cooked more well done as well but the portion they give is a good amount and I could only finish about 3 tacos instead of the 4. The chips and salsa are unlimited which I do like. The salsa I had for my chips are a little spicy but it's pretty good though. This place is a little pricey for just 4 tacos and you're spending about 13-14 dollars. What I originally wanted was 4 tacos with rice and beans and it came out to like $18 something so I only got the 4 tacos by itself. Other than that I'd rate this place an 8/10
The pastor meat was good. It had that cinnamon flavor but not too overpowering. The asada tacos were good but a little too greasy in my opinion. The meat was tender so that is a plus. The reason I took two stars aways was because of the Guac salsa. You CANNOT make a guac salsa out of of other vegetables, throw a couple of avocado seeds in it, and then call it a Guac salsa. Disappointing!
Taquería ay Jalisco is, hands down, the best Mexican restaurant in the region. Their customer service is friendly, fast and bilingual; their prices are very reasonable, especially given that their food is high-quality and presented in enormous portions. Their salsas are all fresh and delightful, especially the hot tomato salsa which is as complex as it is brutally hot. The marinade and spice mix they use in their pork adobo is unparalleled. On weekends, a patron will find a table set up with members of the owning family turning out fresh, handmade corn tortillas. Weekends they also offer pozole and menudo, both of which are as good as (if not superior to) any you might find in Jalisco. The only bum note in an otherwise outstanding menu is the Chile Verde, which is simply green salsa doused on Carnitas (which are themselves excellent), rather than cubes of pork shoulder slow-simmered in Salsa Verde. However, this objection is both minor and technical, and should not in any way dissuade a potential patron. Personally, I am pleased that this taquería has plenty of traditional Cocina Jalisciense; offering menu items that are integral to the cuisine of the region, but which also tend to scare white people. Finally, it should speak to quality of Taquería ay Jalisco that their lunch and dinner crowds are quite dense, attracting all sorts from far and wide. On that note, friends of mine who live in New Mexico will make a point to visit this restaurant anytime they're in California, even if there is a multi-hour drive between them and it. Do yourself a favor and try them.
