What a delight to finally find an unagi restaurant in the US! Premium prices for premium Japanese eel (and yes, the premium eel is worth paying extra for compared to the special eel). Served hitsumabushi style with Japanese rice, broth, wasabi and green onion, miso soup, and pickled veggies. It's definitely on the lighter side so you can add sushi on the side or get extra portions of eel. Parking is free downstairs in the underground lot, which was very convenient.

If you're a fan of Unagi, sushi, and impeccable service, then you can't miss out on Toku. While not my first time enjoying Unagi, the Ujahyu Ta-Ke was a new way of enjoying it. Deliciously sauced, grilled to perfect, yielding both tender fall-apart flesh at some points and crispy caramelized treats in others. The sushi was some of the best I've had, fresh, generously portioned, and expertly crafted. They are small, make a reservation

The rolls of eel and wagyu beef are amazing!! I love this restaurant :)

emmm though it tastes good but I don’t think it worth $50.

This is one of the best Japanese restaurants in LA. A hidden gem with excellent, traditional food and service, zero pretensions and a relaxed atmosphere.

5 stars for the service and fresh sashimi! We ordered unagi rice and carpaccio. Very tasty and special. The chef and waiters are very cautious when they serve during COVID.

A friend recommended Toku Unagi and Sushi and we were not disappointed. The staff was genuinely welcoming and the service was excellent. My wife had the Ohitsu Toku-Jo and I had the Ta-Ke. The Ta-Ke has a smaller portion than the Toku-Jo but I was satisfied when I finished. Be sure to ask the server how to eat the Unagi because they give you several ways to enjoy it. I recommend reservations because the restaurant has limited seating.

We came here for the Unagi because this place has very high quality Unagi which is difficult to find in LA. Then we tried the sushi and the tempura, they were also outstanding! There are a lot of sushi restaurants in LA, and I've tried my share. Toku Unagi & Sushi, is one of the best I've been to. The Toro and the Uni were better than those I've had at high end sushi restaurants in Japan!Plus the prices are reasonable for such high quality, the service was impeccable and they have parking in West Hollywood!!Need I say more. Just go and see for yourself.

Never order online from this place. After almost 40min preparing the order they canceled without no reason or explanation.

This was our first and last time! We told our waiter that I needed to take a chicken salad home for my mom BUT to bring it once we finish our meal due to our long drive home. Which should be common sense…. Next thing I know, he brings out the to-go order prior to us even getting our miso soup and sushi. We explained, again, that we needed to drive far so we prefer to have the salad made after we finished our food. The waiter said, he can’t take it back because I ordered it and it took a lot for the chefs to make (it was lettuce, shredded chicken, and largely cut tomatoes lol). He also said because it’s chicken, it will be fine to sit out for the duration of our dinner and long drive home. Long story short, they refused to take the salad off the bill or make a fresh one, and our waiter got a complete attitude and stopped coming to our table all together! Needless to say, the salad was filled with condensation and the lettuce were completely wilted by the time we got home… The food at Toku Unagi was not good and the to-go order was a complete waste of money. Sharing this experience with others so you don’t make the same mistake we made of going to this establishment.
