Spare Ribs and BbQ chicken dinners were terrible rice was hard. It feel like food was cook 2 days ago Not freshly cook. Will not recommend it.
They had a bunch of little fruit flies inside the restaurant, one landed on my plate and we still had a lot of food left, instead of giving some kind of discount or making another plate they just gave us a Thai tea and charged full price. They also said that the manager was aware of the flies but nothing was being done.
Flavorless chicken soup and owner are watching you while you eat not hot or soy sauce on the table as other Thai restaurants outside of that bad attitude from worker's throwing the plates on your table. My first and my last time here in this area there are many more good restaurants to choose.
Everything was delicious. Just pack your patience when waiting for a table but it's worth it! :-d
Been coming here for years this place has really lost me since the pandemic. The service use to be great as well as the food. Last few times I ordered the s8 the shrimp was foul on the rice. Having to describe the smell makes me cringe. I still go back today I went and was frustrated tried phoning in a order that didn’t work I go in and they messed up my order I was ordered chicken instead got beef. Had to come all the way back. They should’ve let me have the beef I drove all the way back with from El Monte. Instead I had to pay for one out of four. Smh disappointed.
I remember being served tomatoes sliced, cucumbers, and lime slices on the side of the fried rice at their store in L.A on 3rd St. However, at the Amar location I had the Thai BBQ chicken dinner and I got catsup shrimp fried rice, and three shrimp in the shrimp fried rice.
I was happy to find a BBQ Thai! I always love coming to this place too! Highly recommend it.
Service, food both go hand and hand in that they were both excellent.
BBQ spare ribs is awful. It’s actually boiled, then lightly grilled to give it that “grilled burned” appearance on the meat & bones. The fried rice is not as good as it was before. The quality of the food had declined. We’re long time patrons of this restaurant, over 20 years, but we’ll be looking for another Thai restaurant.
One of our favorites. Excellent food and friendly service. Good prices too!! Their BBQ Chicken and BBQ Ribs are always moist, tender, and fresh off of the grill. The best pad thai around and great drunken noodles as well. Very generous portions.
