Very slow service, server had an attitude. Food was good, service wasn’t.

One of my favorite places to eat when I'm in Watsonville California. The food is fabulous in the services wonderful. Very authentic dishes. Five stars all day long.
I really wanted this place to be better. The food looked really good in the photos but unfortunatley didn't deliver in person. We were seated fairly quickly with good fresh chips and decent commercial (not fresh) salsa waiting for us. Drinks and food were ordered quickly. That's about all the positive things experienced. The tortilla soup was really thin and bland. The red sauce on the enchiladas wasn't my favorite but I understand it's the type of sauce used in the region of Mexico they are preparing food to taste similar to. The wait staff came by once to check on us after 30 mins but only needed the check. The restaurant automatically added 18% gratuity for a table of 6. Not sure if that is a standard thing but I prefer to tip on quality and quantity of service. You can usually get more % out of me if it's not forced...just sayin.

We were running errands in Watsonville area so decided to give Cilantro’s it a try for lunch. So glad we did! Facility was clean, staff was welcoming and friendly but most importantly the food was delicious. Chips were warm and so good. Carne asada was flavorful and tender. Worth the drive to come back!
This place is always very good it has not changed in years. Same awsome taste and large portions on your plate.
Good food and great service. Me and my girlfriend had a good time and the server was wonderful. Definitely will be going back as I go down there
