I cannot believe that I have never heard of this restaurant. It is honestly the best food I’ve had in Santa Cruz county. Definitely was not expecting such an amazing meal, especially when the restaurant is located in some sort of business building. The appetizers are great and very reasonably priced. The salads are mostly under $20 and are huge. One of my favorite things about the restaurant is the menu. I have not been to a restaurant where I liked almost every single item on the menu. Definitely definitely definitely definitely recommend
Worst food I've ever had. Atmosphere was very unpleasant,and employees did not look happy to be there at all. 1 busser just kept going around and around in a circle in dining area,and never picked up any dishes from our table. I'll never give back there.
Service is great. Everyone is friendly and attentive. Breakfast was ok. Food needed a little more flavor. Still a good choice to have food.
Atmosphere was welcoming, food was outstanding, my wife said it was the Best Lasagna she has ever had, and I enjoyed the Lamb Chops! Great food, We also had the Mauii Onion Rings! Our server was very friendly and helpful. She was new and tried to give us the best service she could, Overall a great place. We will be back!
I have been a long-time customer of California Grill and avid support of locally-owned restaurants. In the experience coming here, they've had good quality dishes and customer service. However, over the last couple of visits, the quality of food and service has declined. This last visit we experienced the worse customer service from our waiter by far. We waited 45 minutes, and our main entree order had not been taken; when I flagged our waiter down to let him know we were ready, we replied with a rude tone that he would be right there and kept walking away. No apologies for the wait when he approached us for our order; our drinks were never refilled; in fact, we had to go to the bar and pay for more drinks. The food was overcooked and over seasoned. Unfortunately, this experience was totally unavoidable if they trained their staff in customer service. I will say the busser that night was very attentive, the wait staff could take a few pointers from him.
I ordered tri-tip with mushrooms. Cooked medium.It was terrible. Served over cooked, tough and hard with a salty mystery sauce that had maybe 3 mushrooms in it.The burger tastes like old socks.Better off going to the Wooden Nickel if only it was open.
The food and portions are excellent however, the service is outstanding. We sit at the bar and Romero takes exceptional care of us every time.
My turkey and salad combo was delicious Best salads. Very flavorful as well as colorful. Turkey is tender and yummy.
18 oz prime rib was amazing. Almost finished it all. California grill is consistently great even when busy. Breakfast is where they shine.
