Without a doubt, one of the best sushi restaurants in the greater SGV.super fresh seafood.PRO TIP: order their unlimited iced green tea (amazing)
Came back here to celebrate an anniversary, and was pleased that both the service and food quality was amazing as usual. Solid food across the board. I loved everything from the premium chirashi bowl, uni truffle pasta, shrimp & vegetable tempura, blue crab hand roll to the jumbo scallop nigiri/sushi, yellowtail sampler of 3 sushi, and eel sushi. Looking forward to the next time!
Food is good, price is ok but service is very disappointing. Almost don't want to tip bc how bad the service was. They constantly ask if you were done eating and tried to rush you out. Overall, food is not worth being constantly harassed by service staff.
We have been here several times and the fish never disappointed us (so far). The only downside is their ootoro ramen doesn’t have any king crab now and the broth is a little over salty and garlicky. Servers are very nice and the cook knows the order to provide what you ordered. ?
Ootoro is a very good Japanese Sushi/ Sashimi restaurant in Los Angeles. My GF's parents said this Japanese has the best quality Sashimi in the neighborhood. So she brought me there on the last day of LA trip.We arrived around 11:30 am and there was already a long line for the restaurant and full house since the restaurant has openedThe food ordering method was very easy AKA pick & point, lol. We ordered 2 bowls of Tempura, a Sashimi platter, Spicy tuna handroll, and sear Salmon. The server came back quickly with starters which were Miso soup, and side dish (if I wasn't wrong I believe it's preserved shredded carrot and daikon.)It was very tasty, I hope I can get some more. After a while, our orders had arrived. First is a Sashimi platter which I can tell all meats were very firm but soft enough to melt in the mouth. It's a must-have!Second, Sear Salmon, it's good, but I'm more prefer Hamaji (Yellowtail cheek). Salmon was kinda too normal. It's good but not great. The rest was 2 Bowls of Tempura; shrimps, eggplant, shishito, pumpkin. It's very fresh, the crispy yellowish Pangko coated very well. However, it's our mistake to order 2. 1st bowl was good, but 2nd was the sort of too much-fried thing.Oh I forgot to mention about spicy tuna handroll which was good again. ! We were so full and couldn't eat anything until dinner. lmaoThe bill came out very reasonable, only $86. with all the portions, quality, service. If you have a chance to visit LA, better stop by. Top quality Sashimi! Tempura is crispy, sashimi is big and fresh. Chirashi has Tuna, salmon, hamachi. Premium chirashi has Ootoro, Amaebi and Uni. Shrimp shell Miso soup ? is very fravory.
Amazing omakase experience. Been three years since being blown away here and once again washed away impressed. I will be back!
One of the best sushi and sashimi restaurants in LA. Dishes were meticulously prepared and the staff were great. The Chirashi bowl was great and filling.
Best Sushi that I’ve had in America.Very authentic Japanese Sushi and Sashimi.(not fishy at all)Definitely visit again.
Wagyu sushi was simply the best- unparalleled taste and quality. I usually don’t eat raw food, but seared salmon was made to perfection. Sea bass was also very buttery and full of umami. Not sure if omakase really worth the price. But for us, we just order all the sushi we like until we get full, and the bill usually ends up with ~$100/person, super reasonable for this quality of sushi! ?
