Had lunch today. Ordered lunch combo with Spicy tuna roll. Miso soup was cold and may be left over. Waitress said they are cooking new one and replaced it. The spicy tuna roll - the rice was breaking up when pick up using chop stick. Rice used is not the Japanese sticky rice. The sushi guy/chef needs more training how to make rolls. Disappointing restaurant,
I love this place! Amazing food with great prices. My go-to is the ribeye bento box for lunch $15!
Nice atmosphere, friendly attentive staff, free gyoza appetizer which was a nice surprise, food was appealing looking, but the food was all just ok. Agedashi Tofu was probably the best dish (ate half before the pic, also omitted the bonito flakes.
Went to have lunch today with good friends who highly recommended this Japanese restaurant. We ordered from the lunch special menu, and also tried the Dragon roll and California roll. Lunch special came with miso soup, green salad, white rice, and wide choice of entrees. We ordered the pork katsu, teriyaki beef, and teriyaki salmon. All lunch selections were excellent with large portions. Additional bonus for our order over $35 was a complementary order of goyza! We will definitely be back to sample other rolls, and lunch selections!
Family friendly. Limited parking. Vegetarian options. Fast and friendly service. Apple Pay. Somewhat wheelchair accessible, but not ideal. No baby changing station.Pricier than most sushi places but definitely worth it. Amazing food. 10/10 would recommend the Tastu Special roll or the Spicy Spider Roll. The staff were wonderful and more than happy to accommodate with our baby stroller. Overall, the food was amazing, but the customer service alone was so great I’d come back just for that~ ?✨?
Fantastic fast service, great food, and very reasonably priced. Nice atmosphere inside. The menus have pictures of a lot of the items. I especially enjoyed the Surf and Waygu roll. Gave free miso soup and fried gyoza!
Far from your “hole in the wall” sushi joint. I’ve lived in the East Bay for over 10 years and can confidently say Tatsu has the best food, service, and atmosphere of any sushi restaurant in the Walnut Creek, Concord, Danville, Lafayette area. Proportions are always greater than expected, fish is always fresh, creative menu, friendly staff, modern decor, chill music and vibe, reasonably priced, and free gyoza and miso every time we’ve visited. This is our go-to spot and we’ll continue to recommend to everyone we know. Keep up the great work guys!
I like this place as it has many manufacturers choices of dishes. Went with a group of colleagues for lunch at this place. The decoration is unique. The staff very friendly and busy. Arrived there about 11:30am and there was.only 2 couples in.. we made it before the lunch rush, as we were waiting about 20 minutes for the food to arrive at our table. The groups kept coming in.The food... I can't say about how good it is. Bravo to the chefs. The wait staff maintained everyone waiting and even provided the full house of customers with lightly fried & delicious pot stickers stating "this is on the house. Thank you for waiting.I had the spicy Ramen. The broth was colorfully red and you can see the spices on the noodles as I grabbed them up with the chopsticks.I will give this place a 4 stars rating. Food good, staff good, but to their detriment unfortunately does not provide a military/ Veterans Discount. Note: some ethnic food (Mexican, Indian, Mediterranean, Chinese, Ramen, Korean) places do honor Military and Veteran discounts by showing it and demonstrating as much. Sorry, that extra (5th) star is reserved solely for Military honors. Now some places don't and depending on the wait staff or management , have had a few that the business doesn't offically honor Military discounts, but some would supply a Senior discount in its place. Depending on the provided product and service, willing to give 5 stars in those cases.
I was not sure how the quality of this place was before but I think it's decent and offers quality food as well as options we are all accustomed to. It's not Nobu but any stretch but they do a good job. I would recommend this place for lunch or dinner. Lately they have given free fried gyoza so that is a nice extra. They offer healthcare workers 20% off, which is meaningful and appreciated as well. I like ordering the O Toro roll and there bento lunches. I haven't found anything I didn't like or anything to complain about yet. Give them a try!
You can get rolls at any sushi restaurants but Tatsu serves pretty good sushi and sashimi. Nigiri special is one of our favorites as my kid develops her taste buds.
