Understaffed and disorganized. Rather than close stores when employees aren’t available or offer higher compensation to attract more employees, this location operates on the cheap and let’s customers deal with long lines and even longer wait times. We arrived at 2pm and there were dozens of customers waiting to place orders - zero employees behind the counter so we used a kiosk. Ten minutes later a cook came out and yelled that orders were “45 minute waits”. Cancelling the order and getting a refund was painful and time consuming. Spent 30 minutes at the location and walked out with no food. What an embarrassment for a once great chain restaurant. This is not a ubiquitous “COVID” problem - big chains like In N Out and Pete’s Coffee continue to provide prompt and friendly service. Understaffing and poor customer experiences are the result of inept leadership. This company and its senior leaders would be wise to refocus on employees and the customer experience instead of prioritizing revenue, mediocre employee pay, and maximum operating hours.
Shameful. The worst salad ever! I ordered the 1/2 Asian Crunch Chicken salad for $8.99. The greens were well past their freshness date - it looked like it had been sauteed - dark, limp and unappetizing. No one wants to see slime in their salad. And before I even got my order, I had to go back to the counter to get CLEAN silverware. The knife and fork were dirty, greasy. They looked like they had not been washed at all! I wish I had taken a picture. The only edible part of the salad were the bits of chicken and the bread (and I had to go back and ask for butter for the bread).My husband and I went there because he saw the commercial for the new chicken sandwich, and really was looking forward to it. Pathetic! For $11.99 it was a small piece of chicken, cold bun, and was nothing like the ad portrayed. And the side was a bag of plain ol' chips. $11.99!! KFC has a far superior sandwich.$29.00 for a lousy lunch! I didn't even order a drink!We will never return to Panera on Bancroft in Walnut Creek. Do yourselves a favor and find a somewhere else to eat.
Helpful staff, clean store and plenty of parking. The food is pretty good too
I’m a Panera Bread ? Lover but I must say that this location is THEE DIRTIEST I’ve ever been too. I visited at 7:30am and it looked like no one cleaned the night before or that morning. The front door was filthy( finger prints, smeared food, etc.), the floors were dirty, the glass surrounding the pastries was DIRTY! I went to grab a few tea bags and allOf the canisters were dirty,… I’ve never seen anything like this at Panera Bread. I definitely will not visit this location again. I really need them to do a deep clean and have staff clean regularly throughout the day. YUCK!
Location is nice! Staff is great! Dining inn is not too pleasant…tables and floor not as tidy, crumbs and wrappers etc. around. Ordered on app before entering to enjoy dining inside, the order given was wrong yet I did not complain because the food was still edible.
Panera bread ? is good chain, reasonable price, good spot to hang out and good coffee ☕️
I love their Turkey BLTAvacado. Soups & bakery choices are plentiful & excellent
I’ve ordered takeout here three times and two of the three times my order has been wrong. The first time they were out of bread bowls and seemed to think it was ok to not let me know so I had to ask to be refunded the money for the missing items. The most recent time I went in, there were maybe two other customers in, no one in the drive through, yet they were missing two items from my order that they had in stock- they just didn’t pay attention. I used to work in a restaurant and I usually don’t leave bad reviews for places because I know there can be stuff going on behind the scenes but I really get the feeling they just don’t care.
Wanted to give a shout out to the amazing staff and customer service that this location has.. They work together so we’ll and put out a great product.. The Manager Ms Victoria is so pleasant and takes the time to make sure everything correct and up to fabulous standards!! Thank you Panera for employing such a great team!! Will be back often for sure completely recommend !!! Thank you!!
I ordered a Flat bread pizza, customized to my taste and it was delicious. I liked so much that I came back the next day for a repeat and was DENIED the same preparation! Cashier did not at all try to accommodate my request at all!! I WILL NEVER PATRONIZE THIS PLACE AGAIN
