Everything was fabulous! Had a great experience!
This is my favorite Japanese restaurant, friendly staff, wide variety of meals
The House of Sake is tied with a lesser known spot on the Monterey Peninsula as my fave places to eat in the world EVER! And its even actually gotten better with their spicy edamame! If you get one item there it has to be the Godzilla Roll which I usually pair with a seaweed salad, edamame and orders of Maguro & Unagi Nigiri. If I can eat more I'll order more Nigiri or their delicious Tempura. Of course those are always accompanied by a large hot Sake & a large Sapporo. So Yum! As is the cucumber & crab salad that automatically comes before the meal & the pineapple & plum wine that comes after. This IS really THE place to go in Walnut Creek for sushi even though it's not exactly downtown, off the beaten path & next to a 711! It's a bit locals place!I didn't know I loved sushi until I went there 24 years ago. I learned to use chopsticks there that day. Since I've had many of my most memorable times at the House of Saki - there's a perfect area in the back for bday parties and once my bff (RIP Kritter) & I got the bottle of plum wine at the end of the night and ended up tossing a foot all around with some of the staff in the parking lot after hours then walked to my condo down the street.I lived in WC for 37 years and have since been to other sushi's places (obv) but of those 37 years I've been a very frequent patron of this place for 24 of those years. I even went there on my first "official" first date with my husband. It's a special place for many people & the food is just as special.
Had a couple spicy tuna rolls and a a bento box. The rolls were marginal at best. The tuna was old and mushy. I am used to fresh tuna that is red and plump to the touch. The teriyaki chicken was weird tasting...and it was basically chicken that was premade then warmed up and coated with a premade teriyaki sauce that was just poured over the chicken. The miso soup was straight out of a packet I think. Lifeless and boring. This place is sub par at best.
Love almost all dishes at this place. I’m always down for miso soup and it’s always so good.
This is the only sushi place I've tried around here that tastes fresh. It would be 5 stars but i knocked one down since a particular server is unfriendly with me for some reason but seemed super friendly to another costumer who happens to be white. She acts like I kicked her dog or something, maybe she doesn't like me in particular idk but that would be my only criticism of this place. Other than that, amazing sushi!
Good food make sure to bring vaccine card with you
Obscure location next to 7-11 but this place has excellent food and service! Always very fresh sushi due to the brisk business they have consistently. I just discovered this place and it is now my 1st choice for great sushi in WC.
Food is delicious ?, service really good
Amazing food. Great ratio of protein to rice. Friendly service and suggestions are always on point.
