This was my first time trying anything from the chain and for a first experience it was very disappointing.The atmosphere does have a nice rustic authentic Italian theme, and I liked browsing and looking at everything.But the disappointment came with the sandwiches I ordered there.I don't like my veggies so usually just get my sandwiches from anywhere just meat cheese and condiments. It's usually not an issue if anything it's less product they're having to use on mine. But the woman here paused for a moment then gave a judgment "ok, that's a little different."I got charged a few mystery "custom amounts" for what, NOT having things put on my sandwich?I also got a couple drinks and a jar of hazelnut spread, which I have no problems with those things, but the total came out to $43! The price was not at all worth the small size of the sandwiches and they barely put any meat on them.If I do try Genova again it will probably be from one of the other locations, not this one.
Great sandwiches, but watching the staff weighing the meat and tearing off a quarter of a slice of roast beef as to not go over weight is disappointing! Manager should not demand this of his employees. There was a stack of 1 inch pieces that had been pulled off of slices in the bin! Seriously, stop that practice, you look stingy!
Great deli food. Wide variety of offerings. They have hot meals as well as deli meats and salads.
This is for the Walnut Creek location: I called to get price and availability on sausages. They quoted me $14.99 a pound. I called the Napa store and the price was $6.95 for same product. When I asked the WC location about the double price difference they told me that "everything has gone up, we have no control over higher prices. You can drive to Napa and get them". This is the kind of customer service you receive from this store which is pathetic. There is no reason to hijack customers on pricing. I don't need to shop here. I would give 0 rating.
Just had a couple of hot sandwiches and was very impressed with the selection and the quality of the food. We will be back!
Genova's IS a must go to. Seriously good food cooked on site fresh daily. Egg plant parmesan to die for. Lasagna same. Roasted vegies... And authentic deli sandwiches.
Lousy service for me. Lots of people behind me in line. I ordered a chicken ceasure salad. My party already ate their food and the people behind me all got their orders. The time got my salad my party was already leaving. I ended up throwing mine awaymine
