What’s up with this restaurant? There was 18% of gratuity added already in my check on top of an additional line for tip on the bottom. I’m glad I caught that. Why is this allowed? This is so outrageous and dishonest. Be careful before you sign your bill. Check every single line.
The restaurant is the most authentic and upscale Mexican cuisine in California, and you would never know it. I don't write lengthy reviews, but to summarize: - The food is excellent - The drinks are even better! - The staff is kind and extremely polite/professional (despite what some of the haters say below - I don't have skin in the game here so trust me when I say they are lying). - And they play GREAT live music and carry a very fun, safe, and upscale vibe. Tell your friends about it, because all small businesses struggle and this is one I would personally love to see hit 4 stars+ on Yelp and more importantly bring a sense of cultural awareness to one of the best communities in the Bay Area (WC). I almost didn’t want to review this place because I was gate keeping this awesome spot for myself. Dia y Noche is my favorite spot in downtown. They have great food (try their birria tacos), they have good happy hour, they have Mariachi bands on Fridays and live salsa and merengue on Sundays. Not only that, the staff is always super nice and accommodating. Jose treats everyone like they VIP customers. Keep up the good work guys!
Came here on a Sunday night and all lights were off. On Google, it says this place is open until 11 pm. Drove 20 min to try the margaritas. It would be great if they updated their hours online or something.

The place is nice, had a live band that started at 9 pm. It also has a good size dance floor. A lot of different seating areas outside n inside
this is more of a bar than an eatery, but to be honest it's really a cantina. please do not interpret the 3 stars as average: service was excellent, and they have a cavernous dance floor with a recessed stage (for your band), easily large enough for 70 people.on the negative, parking is rough, as it's downtown Walnut Creek, so you will pay for street parking before 8pm. the drinks, though generous, are overpriced, and I feel it has more than anything to do with real estate. the owner and his staff were courteous and professional.recommended for large groups, less so fir an intimate night out with a few friends. I am very upset by how me and my girl were treated tonight. We sat at the bar only ordering one round of drinks and they immediately gave us our receipt. We weren’t even done and they already were wanting to kick us out. Well it was their loss, we are taking our money elsewhere. Never coming here again. Also it was salsa night and we were ready to dance, not anymore.
