I was very disappointed with my first time experience, as you can see my hash browns were burnt. The waitresses weren’t personable. Prices don’t coincide with the food that is served. Would not recommend this place.
Had a very pleasant experience brunching here and would definitely grant this place solid 4⭐️ for being traditional, American restaurant.Starting from the excellent, cared service (thank you Carlos) we were in no need throughout the time. Table was thoughtfully picked to accommodate stroller needs. Coffee and order served at no time with the smile, good mood and pleasant morning light jokes.Food wise - giant entries with very affordable pricing (see menu pics) and good selection. 6 types of Benedicts to choose from. Would recommend Linguica one with hash browns, however will leave it up to you to satisfy you taste.Excellent pie selection and good coffee can complete your dining experience.Overall pleased and will be back for more.Thank you, Buttercup!
Good place to eat . Good food OK service plenty of FREE parking. Easy in easy out. Been going there for years GO you will enjoy.
We didn’t expect that place to be that bad. The service is very slow, but the taste of the food was really gross. I had a feeling it that my dish was prepared yesterday: the food was weathered, and the smell was bad.Bad impression for a Sunday morning. Avoid this place if you want to have a good meal.
We ordered lunch but ended up taking a coconut cream pie home. Our dog was able to dine with us outside on the patio. The servers were fantastic especially since they had to trek in and out, back and forth, nothing was overlooked or forgotten. Always a pleasure to dine at ButterCup.
The clientele at this place is generally older, but their food is usually very good. They bake their own bread, which results in some great sandwiches. We really like their Philly. Actual sliced beef, grilled with veggies and served with cheese HOT on one of their baked rolls. The fries are great also. Their prime rib dinner is also pretty good and very reasonably priced. Go for the food. If you want to show your date that you're cool, you can browse downtown Walnut Creek afterwards ?.

Amazing cozy place and delicious food, I felt like my mom cooked this food. The steak is excellent. I had my prime rig medium done and was just perfect and portion is big relative to the prices. Will try the breakfast next time.
We sat outside. There were so many flies it was impossible to enjoy ourselves. They need to wash the patio outside daily. The flies were disgusting.Also there should be awnings or shades installed. Sitting outside with the sun setting was horrible. Unable to see across the table.The was wonderful...as always. I few improvement could make the experience perfect.
