I had the pozale it's was so good. I added thier salsa in it because it had just enough kick is what I wanted. My wife had the chilaquiles plate she also gave it a thumbs up. I would recommend this place to anyone. Thank you Mr. Taco for the great service and food.
Made to order and delicious…. Salsa can go from mild to hot, hot, hot from visit to visit!
We ordered a Mother’s Day catering order from Mr. Taco and all but the beans and rice everything was way over cooked. Several of our guests did not like the food and some it did not sit well. In addition, it was very expensive for what we received. I just didn’t know at the time because other restaurants in the area didn’t return my call until after I ordered and Mr Taco did. When they did call me back although too late the price I paid was almost double at Mr Taco.
The food was absolutely horrible ? the rolled tacos were soggy, the meat had no seasoning. The strawberry filled churro was disgusting. The burrito was tasteless, and soggy. The salsas had no flavor and were watery. Big mistake with this choice.
I went in to run in and just get some taquitos or Roll tacos the order came out pretty fast and when I grabbed the bag I thought the bags and kind of heavy for taquitos but I just was in a hurry and I left. When I got home it was not taquitos it was two burritos that had beans eggs and something else I could not even figure out what it was. It was not very pleasant look at that new definition on finger licking good nothing I would ever order. I lived too far away and I was in a hurry that I did not take them back. I will not be going back to Mr. taco.
Chilles Rellenos were meh. This is the second time I've gotten these and they have been inconsistent. I think they put flower in the egg batter to make the 'breading' thicker, not authentic at all and they use Mexican blend cheese instead of Oaxaca cheese. The 'breading' should only be made out of eggs. The sauce is good and the chile is good lol but order something else on the menu!Also, hire some new customer service reps or cashiers in the front. They have an attitude problem!
Looked a lot better then it tasted. The Asada was just warm so it wasn’t fresh off the grill. I been to this place before and it was better. I think it was just an off day but won’t go back for a while.
Angelica and her team catered my son and daughter-in-love's celebration of marriage and did an excellent job. The food was hot, fresh and very tasty. Several of the guests commented on how good the food was and asked who had catered the event. On a personal note, best hot carrots I've ever had!
They do allow dine in now, and have a little outdoor table area they seem to share w Leucadia pizza which is next door. In this shopping center there's pizza, mex good, sushi and a deli plus Starbucks. So pretty much every type of food for the whole crew.
Update: NO LONGER SAME. This was my go to place for last 6 years… staff was good before but there was lady at counter was unfriendly. When asked more than 2 salsa she asked $2 extra. Never asked before.. when asked why? she being bashing out on us. The owner was sitting there but no courtesy to say anything. Food quality isn’t same. NEVER GO AGAIN.Old Review:This is the first place to go if I want to eat mexican food in Carlsbad during lunch time. Awesome food and great ambient. I have tried multiple items from menu and all are off the chart. They usually have red and green sauce but..If you like spicy sauce, ask them.
