Worth the wait…oh hold on I didn’t have to wait!!!! Timed this just right and arrived at around 5pm on a weekday and breezed right in. They were well staffed and ready for an ice cream rush as soon as folks got out of work! I got the coconut cream pie and it was out of this world. Generous portions and great service!
No Handel's location has ever disappointed me. It's hard to put words to their ice cream without breaking into poetic soliloquizing. Always very surprised and satisfied.
Ice cream was great! We asked about dairy free ice cream and the worker was a little snooty. We had saw almond milk ice cream online so we asked about it and she looked at us like we were crazy. Unfortunately, my husband couldn’t enjoy anything so we will have to go else where he can enjoy some dairy free.
Love that they opened a location near our place! We have been ordering online for pickup and haven’t found a good way to pick up without either hovering near the door or waiting in a super long line which just defeats the purpose of ordering ahead. We have chalked it up to it being a brand new location. The service is consistently friendly and the ice cream does not disappoint. The Oreo- cheesecake is a family favorite!
I kinda feel like a hater only giving it four stars here... My family was super excited to see a new location in Vista's historic downtown--such a great addition to an already solid strip. The ice cream is super delicious and tons of creative flavors. A small is way bigger than I expected, too. Grab a cone/cup after dinner in the village, or worth the visit just for the ice cream!
Vista location serving scoop is only the size of Baskin/Robbins, NOT the giant scoop of the Encinitas, Carlsbad, and San Marcos locations. NOT worth $4.85. ALSO , two times I tried to understand the policy. My wife wanted a double with two different flavors. I didn't want anything, but wanted a bite of each of her two flavors. We were willing to pay the price for a double and the extra 25cents for a separate bowl. Server said their cash register wasn't set up to do this transaction. Management needs to assure reasonable size scoops, and do some training regarding policies.
I love Handel’s homemade ice cream and one recently opened in downtown Vista! The servers are friendly and helpful if you are having trouble choosing from all their options. The portions are so generous. I am so happy to have one close to home.
This ice cream is so decadent and delicious! I have tried 14 flavors so far and have not found a flavor I don’t like. I never understood what fresh ice cream was until I came here!!! I had to take home a quart of this one, it was so good!!!
It’s so exciting that Handel’s has opened up another location to share their delicious ice cream with even more of us! They always have excellent customer service. I especially love that it is made daily with fresh ingredients. I’ve never been disappointed in a flavor. I have so many favorites, but currently French silk pie and lemon bar are at the top!
It was great the flavors were spectacular , came visiting from Florida wish we had a Handel’s here! Went two days in a row 10/10 , the birthday cake was my favorite
