I had an enjoyable experience at Velascos. The food was authentic, with large portions, The service was excellent and very pleasant. I would recommend it!

The food is mediocre. I've ordered from here many times out of convenience, but I will no longer be a customer. Every time, they never give salsa. I have specifically requested salsa the last few times and still, never any salsa. To me, tacos are naked without salsa and it's a waste to eat it like that. Not sure how much money they're saving by skimping out on salsa for to-go orders, but it must be saving them a lot of money since after 2 years of ordering here, I still have yet to know what their salsa looks or tastes like. Never ordering here again, no matter how convenient. Horrible service.

Only leaving this as we rely heavily on Google reviews when traveling and this was way over rated. Not a bad place but shouldn’t be a 4.6.Came in at noon on a Wednesday and it wasn’t too busy (lots of open tables) but took at least 15 minutes before we were able to order. Had to request menus and water after 10 minutes. But the wait staff was still friendly, we just felt a little ignored. Then the food was just average. As an example, my Chile Verde burrito didn’t have a spec of green on it and was bland. The best part was the salsa they serve with chips was delicious.

Great service, kid friendly and affordable. Food is always good. I enjoy the salsa and enchiladas are on point. Looking for somewhere simple, good Mexican food and won’t break the bank. GO HERE!!

Flavor of food is texmex style. My enchilada and my chile relleno were not spicy at all. Tha salsa they serve with the tostadas was not spicy. I asked for a chile toreado and it was not spicy either.

Wow. Ordered me and my wife lunch today. Crunchy tacos were so soggy. Food was thrown in the containers. Didn't get Tostada i ordered. Maybe thats a good thing. Very disappointed. 65 dollars and couldn’t even finish it After i had separate rice from chili verda. Wont be back.

This place was amazing! Bartender was awesome, service was perfect! Server was very attentive and polite. Best margarita I’ve had in years seriously! We searched Google Maps to find a Mexican restaurant that was close by our hotel that was top rated and they did not let us down. I had the tostada dinner and my husband had the carne asada bowl which could have been a meal for two it was so stuffed full of steak and all the fixens!

I found a random parking spot in the middle of downtown Visalia so that I could take care of texting my business partners. I decided I was hungry and directly across from my car with this great little Mexican restaurant so I decided to give it a try. It was after the lunch rush so I was immediately seated by my friendly server, Nicole. She presented the requisite bag of chips with housemaid salsa. Even though I was dining alone I demolished the chips and had two servings of the delicious salsa. Since that put a considerable dent in my appetite I ordered two tacos from the à la carte menu. The Carne Asada on the soft shell was perfection. My second taco was ground beef with lettuce and cheese in a hard shell. I recommend eating the hard shells first as they are so light and fluffy the moisture from the meat compromises their strength. Although it was a little messy it was absolutely delicious. And, of course, I put salsa on both of the tacos. I told Nicole how much I was enjoying my spontaneous lunch stop and she very graciously, and unsolicitedly, presented me with a small bag of chips and salsa to take for my drive home to another town. I will make sure that I allow myself time to enjoy lunch or dinner here again on my next trip.

First timers, food was excellent!! Chili Verde is good though could use more spice/kick to it and the rice a bit more flavor but in saying that, the shredded beef enchiladas are very good! The sauce and cheese is excellent and flavorful. The beans are delicious. It all blended very well! Excellent customer service as well. Will definitely come back. We recommend!!

Decided to have dinner before attending an event at the Fox Theater in Downtown Visalia, and based on research saw that Velasco's had positive reviews and high ratings so decided to try them. Location is about Two blocks east of the Fox Theater but short easy walk from parking or the theater. The location is somewhat small on the inside, and has about Twenty tables as well as a sit down bar. We arrived at about 5:15 on a Saturday evening and were seated right away, however by 5:30 there was a wait. The waitress and staff were very nice and efficient, drinks were serviced quickly, and waitress was timely to take meal order. We ordered the Chicken and Rice Dinner, Mixed Fajita's, and Double Taco, and Enchilada plate. All of the food was served hot, and the portions were larger then expected, everything tasted great, the drinks were reasonably priced as well, and the chips and salsa was also good. They do have a fair large menu selection, and you can also get breakfast there as well. Overall we were very impressed and will go back again the next time we are attending an event at the Fox Theater or in the Downtown Visalia area.
