EXCEPTIONAL Food!! It was The Best in Visalia-Hands Down!!! Atmosphere, Friendly Waitress with GREAT Recommendations... The View was KILLER!!If you want an experience that is like No Place Else-The Elderwood is the place to Go!.
Be prepared to wait, being a Friday night it took 25-30 minutes for anything to arrive or have anyone come to our table. Drinks were good (darling & watermelon sugar). The menu is very limited. The spicy shrimp was great as an appetizer/starter. When it came time for our entrées, we had to wait a while for our food and our check. The filet was flavorful made medium rare it was melting with each bite, so good! Now the summer pasta was one of the saltiest I’ve ever had, I added chicken since it does not come with any protein, I could not eat it!! The saltiness overpowered everything. The pasta was not Al dente, it was hard to chew. Not sure if they were short staffed, but no one came to see how we were doing until it we wanted to leave and by then the food was cold. Really nice view, even with a wobbly, uneven table. Surprised since i have heard really great things about it.
I love the details as you walk in crown molding elevator felt like the great Gatsby there was no corner left boring. Outside seating was very spacious and beautiful but tables do need to be rearranged so one party is not left facing the sun the entire dinner. Other that that the food was really good portions were great. I do wish the desert menu had a wider variety or better options I picked the carrot cake and I loved that it was moist and you could see the nuts in it. I loved that. I highly recommend you try their 48hr soy sugar cured pork belly it was amazing the fat just melts in your mouth it tastes like a sweat savory butter and the slaw just brings it together never tried anything like it before . Alcohol drink taste were good for me but beware they do have a little kick ?. I personally didn't mind. Great place to be at if you love watching the sunset .
This was a wonderful experience. We decided to stay in Visalia when we visited Sequoia National Park, and this brunch validated that choice. The food and the view were excellent. Also, you see everyone getting the French Toast, trust the masses on this one. It's so good.
Perfecto !Such an amazing service. The restaurant is beautiful, on the rooftop of hotel "the darling". The food was AWSOME ! (grilled Salmon and a steak). The wine was amazing. Desert too. Most recommended.
We made a quick stop on our way through to Three Rivers (from Yosemite) when we realized all of the restaurants were closed there. We were still dressed for our hike from earlier and I could tell the hostess downstairs in the hotel lobby along with upstairs were kind of judging us and only would seat us at the bar. This is the only reason I knocked off a star.Once we were at the bar we had spectacular service, drinks and food! The bartender made plenty of conversation and was very genuine. He made a great cocktail and was entertaining to watch as well. We are glad we made this little detour for a great dinner!
Insanely good. We recommend, in the strongest possible terms, the 48 hour cured pork belly. It was singularly the greatest flavor culinary achievement that we have hitherto experienced on this mortal plane. The drinks were lovely as well. My wife had The Champ and came back for a second round. Our server, the awesome Ashley, also clued us in on the Thai sauce they serve on the spicy shrimp (I think, I might be wrong). That stuff was nuts. It was SO good on everything. I dipped my pork chop in it. I dipped the bread in it.It was delicious. Everything was delicious. Check it out! (it being specifically the pork belly)
It was a great birthday dinner. Food was delicious and service was excellent.
Food is so very good. The service is even better! the view is awesome! I highly recommend this place!
The service was friendly and quick, and the food was delicious. The french toast was one of the best I've ever had.
