After having a wonderful meal with my granddaughter several months ago, I couldn’t wait to bring my wife here for another good time. Something changed. From the start, when I made our reservation I asked for patio table which was verbally confirmed by the man who took my reservation. When we arrived, we were told our table was not confirmed. No big deal to sit inside as it is nice we still prefer outside with Covid problems still around. My wife had the lasagna di carne which she said was good but nothing special. I had the bucatini all’Amatriciana which was very disappointing. It was so flooded with sauce that it was sloppy and the pancetta was almost non-existent. What there was of it was very tiny diced pieces that added no taste to the dish. As for the service, while our waiter was very polite and helpful, outside of delivering our food, he never returned to our table until we were done. Based on my prior experience, I would give this place another try but it would not be a “can’t wait” opportunity.
My experience was poor for several reasons. The food was mediocre at best- not well-prepared. The Caesar salad consisted of a few pieces of lettuce and a couple of croutons for $11. Way over-priced for a small portion of lettuce. The pastas were bland. Bolognese sauce had little taste. Food was not ready at the promised time. Take-out pastas were served in thin paper containers that did not keep anything warm. Finally, parking is almost impossible. Needed to park down the street in the lot of a nearby restaurant. Two stars would be a generous rating.
I travel a lot alone. This was my second visit to Spasso. The first time, the "jumbo shrimp" on the salad was medium at best and the waitress acknowledged it by saying "they lied." Tonight, I went in alone. There were four tables vacant in the dining room. Notwithstanding that, the young ladies at the entrance said I could dine in the bar. I thanked them but left the restaurant. They appear to not like single diners. I won't go back a third time.
Good but pricy for the amount you get. Had the Carbonara is was 4/5 at best. Missing that crazy yum xfactor that would make you eat the hell out the food. I was pretty fricking hungry too.To respond to the owner since it seems like I can’t reply. Your carbonara tastes exactly as it should especially with the ingredients you listed. I’m pretty heavy critic on all food. Crazy yum factor could be anything really like garlic or etc. It depends on the person. Food was not bad at all. Just out of all the carbonara’s that I have cooked and eaten it was a 4/5. Should I rank it 9/10? 90% is still A grade food. It’s just I had better for either better or same price.
Cute patio with AWESOME heaters on a chilly night. Service was wonderful! They are pup-friendly on the patio, which is great. Will have to try the food next time - it looked great and the prices are very reasonable!
We had an amazing time here and the food, drinks and service were spectacular!! I enjoyed the Chicken Marsala and the Tiramisu was heaven and it reminded me of when I was in Italy !! Thank you so much for making our event last night so special!! GoToAmy.com
Amazing dolci creation menu— I have to give that recognition to them; however, for a reason or another, I wasn’t super impressed with their food. For appetizers we ordered calamari which seemed overcooked and were served only with marinara sauce; when asked for tartar sauce, they didn’t have it. Pizza was Ok, and pasta was Ok — can’t recall what type of past we ordered.Overall, it was a nice experience— venue is cute, staff is friendly, and desert (regardless what you’ll order) is rich and delicious ?.
Good Italian food, good service. I would prefer the food a bit more spicy but still good.

I loved this place. Not a big place. My food was excellent. I had the the Cachio e Pepe (not pictured) too busy eating. There were 6 of us. If I lived in Ventura I would want to eat here often. Service was very good! Fish with capers, Lasagna and a Bolognese dish. A really diverse menu. Please try this restaurant I hope you will like it.
