This restaurant is GREAT!! The Food & Service is Superb!! When I saw the special of Crab Fried Rice I was curiously excited. This meal to me is a Blessing of a Treat also with the Fried Calamari, my Wife got the Pad Thai Chicken and Satay Chicken. The peanut sauce of the Satay is so decadent. Will definitely come back for that. Overall this visit was a nice one while staying at the Crown Plaza and roaming around Downtown Ventura. We are looking forward to returning here in the future. We love eating at Rice by Mama. Whether sitting down or ordering take out the food is delicious and serving sizes are plentiful.
I ordered the yellow curry, medium, with red rice. The curry is delicious, it's my favorite yellow curry to date. The sauce/soup/liquid part of the curry base is rich and creamy. I'm a fan of spicy and this was perfect for me. It would be too spicy for someone with a low spice tolerance.Also ordered at the table was crab fried rice, pad Thai, and spicy fried rice. The spicy rice was also a medium and was pretty mild but still delicious.The restaurant is clean, they have indoor and outdoor seating, and staff is attentive (filling water, checking in).Added bonus is that the menu is clearly labeled for allergens and offers a large variety of gluten free items.Portions are also generous, everyone at my table had enough leftovers for an additional meal.
We had the Mango curry & crying Tiger. Wonderful food, amazing flavors and good service! Worth a visit.
Employees are very kind and helpful. Establishment is clean and condusive for large groups or intimate parties. Not the best Thai food ever had but still good.
The area around city hall has streets closed off to automobiles and makes it convenient to sight see.I read several positive reviews and there were lots of seating outside and inside.The staff were very nice.They were hustling during the lunch rush.We sat outside, ordered the garlic edamame, vegetable delight and the spicy (mild) drunken noodles with chicken.The edamame were flavorful with garlic.The vegetables were wonderful with a bit of sesame flavor.The noodles with the peanut sauce were amazing!My wife is still raving about the noodles!After coming home a few days later, she is still craving the drunken noodles!Thank you for your time.
Absolutely delicious panang curry! Lots of other very tempting things on the menu. Very easy to order online for pick up.
Very nice place the amount of food you get per dish is large and you could possibly share with another person. Food was good but i think it could be better, maybe it was a off day but i will definitely come back and try another dish.
Not so reasonable anymore. $20.00 for "mixed seafood" kabocha squash special Thai was literally 2 small shrimp, 2 tiny scallops, 2 chewy squid rings and 2 mussels. It was listed as "one chili" spicy, but there was ZERO spice. Only sweet. SWEET SWEET SWEET. Their $3.00 "cucumber salad" side was 3/4 red onion. Yuck. Waited to have our order taken, then after food came never checked back until we were nearly finished. On a not very busy Sunday at 5:30 pm, that stinks.
We liked it but wish the chicken in the pad thai wasn't just biloiled but pan sauteed. Something that we've faced elsewhere- we are just looking for a little more flavour. Otherwise very good.
