Are used to live in Ventura I used to come here quite often so much so that I became a regular for a time. Now that I no longer live in Ventura my aunt who I introduced to this restaurant has become a regular in my place. Make no mistake you will not find better Chinese food in the town of Ventura. Ordered the pan fried crispy noodles with three flavor and an order of orange chicken and some eggrolls for the side. When I got back to the house everything was packaged really well and the food was great as it’s always been. If you like your Chinese food extra extra spicy let them know and they will take care of you. Peking restaurant is one of the things I miss not living in Ventura anymore. You will find them across the street from Buena high school.
Oh, the sight smells of Chinese food are always so enticing. And when there are so many places to choose from, finding the better ones and take some time. I would say this is definitely one of the better ones. It's not one of the mill. Well priced. Good portions. And delicious. I've always taken take out so I don't know what the table service is like.
Food was great; service was outstanding. Everyone very friendly & helpful. Got some of the desert wraps (like little apple pie) on the house. We will be coming back!!!
We got the sesame chicken and some imperial shrimp and some honey walnut shrimp with wonton soup. Everything was awesome. Everything was delicious and the service was excellent. Brandon was our server and did an excellent job. Thank you, Jason and Margaret
I love the food and the staff at this Restaurant best food ever I ordered black peppered shrimp with white rice and it was delicious and filling slept good that night so if you're feeling like Chinese food Peking Restaurant is the prime place to go.
This restaurant is so underrated. I love their food ! Everything on the menu is delicious whether you’re vegan, vegetarian or not. I’ve been going to Peking for 5 years and I have never been disappointed. thank you ?
The food is pretty good, the portions are huge and prices are reasonable.
This is IN FACT the most bland, uninspired, Chinese food I have ever eaten. It looks like Chinese Food, but doesn’t taste anything like Chinese Food. The worst in my life. I am 60 years old. I Love Chinese food. Been eating Chinese food since I was in College.
If I could choose to say No stars I would select it. My husband ordered $50 worth of food and ALL - every.one.of.the.dishes was bad. It was beyond bland. We thought maybe we lost our tastebuds but this wasn’t the case. We threw away the meals and flushed $50 down the toilet.
My family loves Chinese food- our go to restaurant in Camarillo (Chester’s Asia) seems to have suffered like many other restaurants during the pandemic. The last time we ate there the food was bland and lifeless - apparently a different chef than Pre-Covid. Peking Chinese in Ventura had several positive reviews so we decided to give it a try. Overall it was a positive experience, aided by a pleasant atmosphere and extremely cordial and efficient waitress. Chicken and pine nuts in lettuce- was tasty but just OK. Chester’s gives you a larger portion, is more flavorful and they prepare it at your table with a nice plum sauce. Kung Pao Shrimp- was OK too. The portion was small although for the size there were a good number of shrimp. The flavor was good but we asked for it spicy and it was not. Schezuan Eggplant- excellent flavor and good-size portion- a keeper. Crispy Duck - was tasty, good portion but difficult to remove the meat from the bones. We don’t get to eat duck hardly ever so it was enjoyable with a nice sauce. Pork Lo Mein (soft noodle) - we’ve had better lo mein - this was nothing special at all. Seafood Chow Fun- was the best dish of all. Generous portion, excellent flavor, was thoroughly delicious. As with any new restaurant it takes a few trips to find out what they do well and what not so well. Price wise some of the dishes were a good value, others not so much. Next time the Chinese food craving arises we’ll definitely give the Peking Restaurant another go. We visited at lunchtime and ran into a large contingent of Buena High School students. While putting on my mask outside the restaurant, the wind blew it away and one of the students bent down to grab it for me before it disappeared. While inside the restaurant a group of 5 students sat near us and they were all polite, quiet and respectful. Kudos to Buena High School!
