Friendly staff good food very casual
A very busy Sunday morning where every breakfast place in town had people standing outside. I noticed it was busy but only two people were standing on the sidewalk. I walked in, they asked how many, and as soon as I said 'just me' they pointed to an empty solo table and I sat right away. Great service in that I requested blueberries in my 7 grain pancakes rather than on the side. Meal came out quickly. Very good. A nice meal on a busy Sunday.
Since moving to mid-town Ventura we frequent Golden Egg regularly. We bring friends and family from out of town and out of the country. Seldom any lines and service and staff super friendly and attentive. Recently, I went to Golden Egg on my birthday and was treated like a queen. I was upset about a family death from COVID and Jennifer was so compassionate and caring. They are like a family. Over the 8 years we have been frequenting Golden Egg, we have maybe had one or two over cooked pouched eggs, but they have always made it right and the mimosa's are great. No need to wait in line like the other restaurant down the street, great food, great service and great price! THANK YOU GOLDEN EGG and THANK YOU for wearing your masks!!! Dar and Sue
I’d give more stars if I could! Friendly, thorough service and delicious food. I very much appreciate their commitment to masks and distancing. Also, chicken and waffles. I’ll be back!
Cute little spot here some great baked items cinnamon rolls were awesome as well as the banana nut bread. Great breakfast and service.
Delicious American breakfast fare, good service and plenty of parking. I enjoyed they the country fried steak with hash browns, and my wife enjoyed her omlette. Very nice sitting outside, no wait
Really quaint outdoor seating area! I like the fact that it's like sitting out on your aunt's porch. The French Toast I had was really delicious, and they actually did my over hard eggs OVER HARD! Broken and completely cooked yolks, but not dry around the edges, and still really hot, too. So, it couldn't have been better even if I cooked it myself. Like it, going to go back when I get a chance. You should try it too.
The golden egg is a very cute "little" breakfast spot. Down the street from another popular breakfast joint. I gave this one a 4 star only because the food was off a little somehow. The service and staff were awesome! They were very attentive. I think that they just don't have the experience yet, but they are working very hard to get there. I enjoyed the experience.

Family breakfast while on vacation. We were looking to go to a popular place down the street but it had a bunch of people waiting so we walked down to Golden Egg and decided it was a great decision. No wait, delicious food and friendly service. Wish I would have taken a photo of my son’s chicken and waffle, looked and tasted amazing!
