Let me preface this by saying that I live 15 minutes away from this hotel and have stayed here 3x in the past 6 months. From a date night turned date weekend, my birthday with the girls, to working an event and just didn't want to make the drive back and forth, Crowne Plaza has my heart. The location is one of a kind. The staff exceed expectations. The newly renovated rooms are gorgeous, and the lobby bar provides the perfect night-cap. A 10 minute walk to my favorite place, Downtown Ventura, makes the Crowne Plaza Ventura Beach just that much better. This place has me, forever.
Stay here for the location. It's close to the beach, downtown and the pier. Rooms were clean at check in, but we never received any housekeeping services. The biggest problem was the mess up of my reservation and checking me out a day early. Mistakes happen but the front desk, I believe it was a supervisor, made it seem like it was my fault. They wanted me to pay again for the final night. I booked via a 3rd party. Took me an hour on the phone with the 3rd party to get it fixed. The 3rd party said they couldn't get anyone at the hotel to answer. The person at the front desk was rude. She was rude when I checked out and asked for a zero balance invoice. Wish I had written down her name. Like the review on 7/19, rude service at the front desk, by some. Pool ran out of towels, it's heated so that's a plus. The room was nice, but the bathroom door, poor choice. Frosted glass on a sliding door that faces the room. Don't use the bathroom at night, you'll wake everyone up when sensors on the lights go on.
When we checked in the receptionist told us they would waive the valet parking charges. When we checked out the receptionist was rude, went back on the word of the previous receptionist. The money was not the issue. It was her behavior that was off-putting. Clearly could not care about her customer.
Their are many reasons why this hotel is amazing. From the wonderful staff to the good food. To me personally the staff contributed the most to make my stay memorable. Liliana, who is the front desk employee helped me tremendously throughout my stay. Whatever i needed she got for me, she found ways for me to get discounts on my stay. A bartender named Mike at the hotel bar was very funny and great at bartending. Overall, the staff here at crowne plaza makes this hotel so great!!
The girl working the front desk almost everyday, should be promoted. I wish I got her name but she remembers everything and is fast!Before booking I forgot to check the coffee situation. First thing I do in the morning is to go look for coffee and right as I got off the elevator, there it was. Honestly, convenient coffee is #1 for me when choosing a hotel.I like that anything you need is within walking distance and the hotel is beach front, right next to the pier.

The hotel and staff were above our expectations! The rooms were beautiful with a great view right on the beach. Every associate we encountered was extremely friendly and we loved exploring the town of Ventura! We will definitely be back!
I booked 8 rooms at the Crown Plaza to take my students on a university tour, and right off the bat it was VERY easy to book and pre-pay. The customer service was excellent, and when I showed up, everything was as expected. The front desk was GREAT, and they even upgraded my room to a suit as the only "chaperon" for 15 young college aged students (which was highly appreciated ;-) ) Not to mention the location was beautiful. I would definitely recommend.
