Great for drinks & sunsets
Location is unbelievable. In the center of Venice. A minute from the beach and three minutes from Abot Kinny. Staff were helpful and understanding. Nice and welcoming. Helped us with anything we needed. Room was big and comfy, Bad was great. A true surprise in the heart of Venice. The perfect place to stay in L.A.
I had a great stay here for upgraded. The hotel room is excellent especially the dope showers. Great location that's close to everything you would want. I had an emergency and had to check out a bit later and the great staff including Brendan, Yoshwa and Miguel were super accommodating and hooked me up. Would highly recommend.
We had the most amazing stay at Hotel Erwin. This hotel is just so cozy and warm, the most amazing beachside vibes. Truly a little slice of heaven. The rooftop lounge is an amazing amenity as well! So cozy and fun!
I've been staying at the Erwin for many years now and love it. The location and set-up are great but what makes it a cut above are the folks who work there. Miguel always makes sure we are well taken care of and goes above and beyond and everything. Thank you Miguel and ps. this is 100% unsolicited sincere feedback from a satisfied guest.
Erwin joins the ranks of many 1960s hotels that have been flipped and chic-ified. Once a Best Western, it was renovated in 2009. Look for Ikea-modern furnishings and bold statement pieces, but the hotel maintains its original floorplan and has some midcentury charm left in it. The rooms were painstakingly clean and the furnishings were in great shape, they have either renovated recently or paid great attention to maintenance. We had a corner king suite, it was huge (if underfurnished). We faced the street and had not even a glimpse of the beach, but a quick phone call to the front desk... well, they didn't even check if they had an ocean view available, they just told me they couldn't. The hotel is beachfront and near everything. The pizza place on the ground floor was good. Eggslut is next door and was great for breakfast. Hotel is asking $50/night for parking (!!) but there is plenty of street parking nearby and pay lots across the street in two directions. The hotel skips counting floor #2, so the first floor above the ground is 3 - rooms are on 3, 4, and 5 (or, in reality, 2, 3, and 4). I don't know why this fascinates me so much other than it's just a bizarre thing to lie about. The hotel cash-cow is the hipster rooftop bar. They seem to prioritize the patrons of the bar over that of the hotel. They are militant about masks in the tiny lobby (you know, COVID safety) but the same guy who won't let you in the door without a mask will gladly put you at the end of a line of 20 hipsters to squeeze into a 6 person elevator with no concern for social distancing. I guess that safety protocol impacts the bottom line so they don't take such a hard line on it. Anyway, overall, good hotel as long as you don't mind taking the stairs to your room because the elevator is always overloaded with bar patrons.
Had a great ocean and city view. Nice and clean yet just steps from the beach.

Charge $49 a day for parking, smells like pot everywhere and if you have kids ---u can't even eat at the rooftop restaurant.
