This place is lively and can get quite loud. Food was okay, nothing to write home about. They don't offer reservation so prepare for the long wait. I also noticed that if you're friends with the host, you can get seated before guests who have been waiting for a table.
Unclear why this place is popular aside from its trendy wine list. No menus so you have to have a smart phone (discriminatory) and it forces you to stare at your phone as soon as you sit down. It’s also hard to navigate the web menu. The hostess offered me an iPad and then never brought it. The service was downhill from there. Totally unclear who our dedicated server was, maybe there wasn’t one? No water for about 20 min. Empty plates sat on the table as new plates arrived and I had to ask someone to take them away. Only one kind of oyster available and they were minuscule. Ordered the fish but the plate was 80% arugula, never ending arugula. Very little fish.
They are insanely busy on weekends and Sunday is the best time to visit this restaurant. Everything they serve is fresh, natural wine selections are unique
Love Dudley Market! It’s the perfect, neighborhood place for a weeknight dinner when you want good wine and a simple menu.
Wow could you play the DJ music any louder...I mean great music selection, and really amazing food, but when you can't speak to your date across the table it's a hint the music may be too loud...
One of the most miserable experiences of my existence. I wish I could give less than 1 star. Don’t tell me 45 then make us wait for 2 hours. What a joke of an institution. I was already aware that the food was mediocre… I didn’t know the service was abysmal too. Avoid like the plague!!
I wanted to love Dudley’s so badly. Our first experience was great. It was pricey but the vibes were immaculate and food was delicious. Just went back for our second time (hoping to meet that same high bar) and the quality just wasn’t there.Oysters were so small I genuinely thought some of the shells were empty and they immediately made me feel a little queasy. Fish tacos were pretty bland and unremarkable. Oysters, fish tacos, and one glass of wine each made dinner $130. Comparing it to other $130 dinners at places like Scopa, it just doesn’t live up to the price, unfortunately.
Dudley is a perfect restaurant. I've been going for the past three years and it only gets better- whether it's sitting solo at the bar chatting with the team or using any friend coming into town as an excuse to try more of the wine list. The deets:- Get any and all things fish, especially raw. The team and owner line catch everything so the menu will constantly change but it'll blow your socks off. Miso yakitori and all tuna will make your heart melt.- Other: would argue top three french fry from here to SF. Little bit of spice, perfectly crispy. The burger is ranked top (and is), recommend splitting it so you can eat more fish.- Wine: the staff knows their stuff. Huge natural list, special collaborations run by Dina, and some of the local winemakers running events.- The Vibe: a turntable, friends,DJs, etc. There's always good tunes coming.- What's going on: Check out their Instagram to see the hot takes of the day e.g. what fish is in, who's spinning what, and just to drool.
Cool vibe, intimate setting, great blend wines
great oysters, good wine, our server kept making some strange remarks on my age and on wine prices following up with multiple comments on how they have 90min limit and we need to hurry up when it wasn't even close to 90min. we asked him if we can start out with a glass of chardonnay, but he pointed to house blend and didn't say that we could get a bottle of chardonnay for the table instead of the glass so he didn't even recommend anything when we asked. then i was trying to place an order for the bottle and he said that all bottles are $20 more expensive than the menu price because those are for members. he didn't explain anything about membership at all even after i asked. then he left and ignored us for awhile even though i tried to get his attention and most tables were still open. eventually he came by and i was placing an order for a bottle of wine. he was cracking up at me and then he says with a smirk: "are you drinking too, you look 15!?" eventually we settled that with my ID. then i tried getting some appetizers since we were still waiting on another person, and we were told that they only take whole order per table, no such thing as appetizer is possible unless we order everything at once. waiter came up 3 times in 15 minute span asking when the last person in our party is coming and reminding of 90min limit... eventually they show up, we place an order and the waiter says - you wont be able to order more after this because it will be close to 90 min limit. food and wine and the rest of the staff were lovely, but it was impossible to relax because of how unprofessional our waiter acted and kept us constantly on the edge of our seats!
