This was a pleasant surprise. We just saw this on the street and decided to try it out. The food was excellent, with many vegetarian options. The drinks were tasty and not watered down. The wait staff was very helpful. We were from out of town, but you could tell it was a local restaurant for many. There were families, friends and business attired patrons that I could see. We had a Hibiscus Margarita and a Seasonal Mango Margarita. What's different about this place, is they serve you three blue corn tortillas with salsa, so you can make your chips the size you want. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone wanting something different than the typical Mexican food. Delicious!
Wow! I can’t believe I’ve ignored or least have taken this long to try this place even after many glowing recommendations from friends.I’m just not really big on “fancy” tacos granted that we live in Los Angeles. However venturing out of the food trucks and classic family owned taco places is good sometimes as well!My friend was right that this place has the best fish tacos ever. Oh my god the fish was cooked so perfectly and they give you one big piece. I asked the server for my second taco and went with the chicken. Sooo good, juicy and flavorful! The guac, tortilla chips and the tortilla itself were all fantastic too. Not to mention the spicy margarita which was stiff. Just the way I like it. Will definitely come back again!
If you haven’t been to Chulita yet, make your way over as soon as possible. From superb service to delicious food, I will 100% be making my way back for meals. I got the steak taco and pescado taco. The pescado was good, nothing to complain about, but let me tell you, the steak was cooked a perfect medium rare- literally perfect! The server was right when they said that although it seems like you’re paying for one, you can split the filling up into the two tortillas provided. We also ordered the Chulita Bowl with barbacoa, and that is exactly what I will be coming back for. From the perfect balance of flavors to a decent serving size, it was the star of the meal. I definitely recommend this place and will be sure to make my way over again in the near future.
Glad that I found this place in Santa Monica! Enjoyed the modern vibe & great food & wine!!! Chulita bowl with barbacoa & mushroom taco were ??
My god, what a treat! Sophisticated cocktail flavors, tender vegetarian quesadillas and tacos with wow-flavor fillings. We were very happy to choose it as a dinner place during our last night in California! Cosy, light and delicious, kudos to the team
Excellent experience from making a reservation to having dinner with my folks. It is fab when a hip restaurant can serve multiple generations well. The service was spot on and the food delicious. My 75 year old mom even complemented the experience that it was good. My meat loving father and vegetarian daughter all enjoyed the food and drinks. Thank you.
Amazing service!! Thank you Quentin!! From the fresh guacamole to the tacos and dark chocolate pudding , all were fresh and delicious. The drinks were also spot on. Cozy atmosphere with outdoor heaters. Definitely will return!!
The tacos ? are good but I had better. The service was great but the attitude the hostess has wasn't pleasant. I never go back to this restaurant just because of the hostess and I'm not going to miss the tacos but I recommend to have a meal there for once. The atmosphere and their drinks were above my expectations.
Tortilla soup was incredible. Loved the Barbacoa taco… fish taco was solid as well. Good vibe & great margaritas.
Great brunch spot. Good food for sures. Most of the dishes packs a nice mild spicy punch to it. So it's not too Americanized.Taquitos and vegan cheese are in the pics.Overall I'd suggest ceviche and guacamole to start. Excellent fresh guacamole.Tacos best one is actually the mushroom taco, better than the meats!
