I love pizza. LOVE it. And Lido's makes the best I've ever had. EVER. Extra thick dough and spicy sauce for the win! And they don't skimp on the cheese. Their sourdough rolls are so delicious-crispy and flaky on the outside, warm and tender inside. And if you love lasagna, they also make the best version of that I've ever had. I'm a definite fan.
It's simply just the best all around old school Italian restaurants I've ever eaten at. The surprising thing is they have so many of "the best." I'm not even a fettuccine alfredo fan, but their white sauce made from scratch is truly exceptional. Their meat sauce is a whole other thing entirely. Truly out of this world. I recommend pairing it with the meat ravioli or, in my opinion, springs, but so good with all of their pastas. I don't know how they make their pasta or what's going on over there, but it falls under the category of Last Meal. Also, do yourself a favor and get either the antipasto salad or the Caesar, both with dressings that are made from scratch and also come with sourdough rolls that appear to be homemade as well. Their Pizza is sort of a New York style, but it's more nuanced with depths of flavor that are hard to describe. It's one of those places where the food has to be eaten fresh and it's just not the same with leftovers which in my mind and in my world, is a plus because it means the focus is on fresh. If a restaurant is operating at the height of their game, the best version of their food is going to be when it comes to your table and NOT the next day. If it tastes better or the same the next day, to me that's an indication of a problem. Lido is absolutely a standout and I'm going to be a lifer for sure!
Best kept secret in LA. Shame on me for blurting it out. When I eat here I usually get a pasta dish Rigatoni with meat sauce. This is the best priced homemade pasta anywhere and the Lasagna is is hands down the best. The pizza is pretty satisfying. Secret tip... we usually ask for the extra crispy crust.
The best. Hands down. The best pizza and pasta in LA. I’ve eaten at 3 star Michelin restaurants and this is comfort food, perfectly executed, every time. I love the shells with marinara sauce and a thin crust with sausage and mushrooms. I’m 45 and I e been eating at Chi Chis (sister restaurant) since I was a child.
Stay away from the Alfredo. It basically sucks. Everything else is good. The pizza is delicious , and the lasagna. I've been coming here for a while. It's a shame that the shrimp , Alfredo is more like a flavorless soup.
Staff is friendly. Restaurant is well cleaned and nice place to hand around. Pizza not much flavor on it as I expected may I order wrong one hope visit the place again and try different one.
Best Pizza. Rolls are incredible. We as always order extra. Pasta is always predictably great and consistent. I could go on. Been going for 20 years. I live an hour away now but get bye when I get anywhere close!Today I had a Cold Cut Sandwich. It was huge! Very tasty.
This place is VERY popular & has been around many, many years. I stopped by on a whim 'n picked up a large mushroom & onion pizza & asked for extra sauce. I liked how the pizza was cut into smaller slices...but the pizza itself, I thought was just so-so. I did not ask for extra cheese, but it was overloaded with too much cheese, barely any mushrooms and no extra sauce. Perhaps the cook just made a mistake....It was delivered to me piping hot, the girl who assisted me was very sweet, but for me, it just wasn't anything exceptional....just average pizza....?♀️
Fantastic!!!! Reuben our waiter was awesome!!!!! We celebrated 2 birthdays on the same day and they even gave each of us 3 scoops of ice cream with fudge complimentary. Asked the manager if he could accommodate us since it was our friends first time here. and we had been coming for years. So anyway the manager was fantastic and my friend was so happy and loved the Spaghetti/Meatballs.!!!!! And the pizza and antipasto salad was awesome as well... Keep up the good food making Lidos!!!!
