Loved this place when we found it, and have been back a half-dozen times. The fake meat emphasis seemed a bit odd at first, but it's fun and the various "meats" are distinctive. The burritos are super filling, and would be delicious were it not for all of the salt. My wife and I have come to realize that the saturation of salt in everything tends to make us feel a little ill and super thirsty afterward. So, unfortunately, we won't be coming back.
Today my lovely daughter wanted to support a locally owned business.She invited me to eat vegan.I am kind of picky in that but I wanted to try the vegan Nachos al pastor and for her with Carne asada.These Nachos are out of this world. They taste soo good, the best Nachos I ever ate!!Very good food and 100% vegan!!
I've tried so many vegan places , but this one has me coming back for more. It's one of the best Mexican restaurants I've ever tried, and IT'S VEGAN. How much better can this get!
It took me way too long to find El Cocinero, but now that I have, I don't need a burrito or taco or torta or quesadilla from anywhere else. We have basically tried everything on their menu. Every protein is flavored perfectly. Their flan is amazing. Everything is GREAT. Not good, great. Fast and friendly service. My new favorite Vegan eatery.
Really amazing vegetarian Mexican food joint. Their carnitas and al pastor are made of jackfruit and the rest are made of soy derivative. For meat choices, I highly recommend the al pastor, eggplant, chicharron, and carne asada! Kombucha recommendations are the watermelon and cherry bomb! There seems to always have a long line, but it moves fairly quickly.IG:. kay_okay_eat
The best vegan tacos I've ever had. Homemade meats and straightforward style of food make this place a must go.I tried it yesterday and am already planning my next visit.
my favorite place! pozole is amazing, tacos, mulitas everything!! even their horchata and aguas frescas my favorite meats are asada, carnitas, al pastor, chikin, mushroom sudadero! customer service is always v nice! they are all friendly, and parking lot is very spacious :) also my mom loves el cocinero even though she’s not vegan! it’s definitely the best vegan food in the valley ???
Tacos and burritos are amazing! Serving sizes are generous and well worth the price they charge. Some of the other items not so much. Bought a mulita and the amount of cheese was overwhelming, couldn't finish it. Not worth what they charged for it.
Very few vegan Mexican restaurants are authentic, most miss the mark. But this place is on point. The fact that majority of the customers were not vegan, means you're doing something right. Flavors on point, I will definitely be back.
One of my two favorite places, I drive from LA sometimes just to go to El Cocinero, remember when they had the truck, I'm glad that the business is doing well and you guys got your own spot now, even if you move I'll follow you around just to buy your food. Good job guys.
