The new owners are great! The birria tacos and consome were a hit. The consome wasn't watery or oily. It was reduced, thicker than usual and full of flavor. The pupusas were delicious also, the lorocco is always my favorite. Quality cheese is a must. Got the tamales to go, can't wait to make breakfast tamales in the morning.
So the first time I visited LaCuchara I did not know that there were two doors (the door I walked to was closed so I thought the place was closed), I was so disappointed I left because I was really craving pupusas.A couple days later I came back & realized there was a second door that they leave open. Anyways! When I walked in I was surprised to see that the place was not packed. Other than my cousin & I, there was one table of 2. Upon entering, we were immediately greeted by a nice man at the cash register. To my surprise there was more Latin food than I expected from Mexican to Salvadoran. & the prices are reasonable. We bought about 15 pupusas, 2 sopes, horchata & pineapple juice all for $60. As our order was being prepared, we sipped on our drinks & the nice man give us chips & salsa while we waited. And let me tell you, this salsa was so good & had the perfect kick of spice.Within 15 mins our food was ready. & it was all worth it. Our family never had pupusas before & they loved it. The only sad thing is we wish we ordered bigger drinks. If you're in the area, you definitely should not miss this place. It might look like a hole in the wall but the food & customer service speak for itself.
Friendly own, clean space and the most amazing food that melts in your mouth!
Oh man, this place is seriously dirty and disgusting! We went in here because my wife is from El Salvador to give her a taste of home. Immediately upon entering, some maskless guy was picking his teeth in front of a bunch of dirty dishes. The walls were covered in filth and grease stains. Safe to say we walked out.
Still mad about the burrito I ate there. How does one manage to f_ck a burrito up? I think they put enchilada sauce inside of it, who does that?? Next time anyone serves me a burrito that is soft and flimsy & not slightly firm, imma throw it back at them. That means it’s going to be very wet inside. Hella pico de gallo and salsa or something overfilled inside. So gross, the cheese wasn’t melted inside, red enchalada sauce coming out when I took a bite and barely any meat. I am not hard to please. If I gotta write a bad yelp review that means that was straight disrespectful or were you were in violation
I loved their pupusas revueltas!! Great place. Staff is super friendly!
Ordered two fish tacos, 2 pork tostadas and 1 pork and chicken tamale. The tostadas shell and taco were the same pan fried tortillas dripping in oil. I could not even fold the fish taco. Nothing tasted fresh I checked the tamales and one was obviously already stale. I got salsa in a Ziploc bag. The oil from the tortillas dripped right through the takeout box. This was really a terrible presentation with food that was not fresh or preserved correctly. I patiently waited 30 minutes and spent around $35 for food that I threw away; cheated out of my money.
Delicioso! Me encanto la comida Seguro que volvemos
The family that runs the restaurant are so friendly and helpful, very nice! I ordered tamales for Christmas eve, they were ready and hot when I picked them up and were delicious. Next time I will try the banana leaf tamales. Lots of parking, tables outside and a few inside. They also have wonderful looking bakery items. Some traditional Mexican pastries. Definitely try this place.
Best veggie burrito I have ever had a restaurant. It's not on the menu just ask for a vegan burrito (veggie burrito, no cheese, no sour cream). It's packed full of grilled veggies, beans and rice with fantastic flavor! Staff is friendly, helpful and cheery. All of the food is beautifully prepared. Highly recommend this gem.
