Always the best sandwiches in Vallejo; clean building and friendly staff
I love Ike's, they're my go to whenever I'm jonesing for a tasty sandwich. My issue with this location, and the reason I only gave them two stars is when I walked in, the music was cranked. Don't get me wrong, I love music and often crank it up. However this was too loud for a lunch spot where I wanted to sit & enjoy my yummy sandwich. After I ordered, I politely asked if they would turn the music down a little. It really was disorienting. They immediately turned it down a notch. I used the restroom and when I came out, the music was cranked again. Customers walking in were wincing.I didn't want to be "that guy" and ask them again so I left looking for a table in the shade. The staff here seemed welcoming, they just didn't seem to understand the negative effect of the customer experience in the restaurant. If management is reading this, please coach the staff working lunch time on 6/15. They seemed nice.
I don't remember exactly what I had... I think it was called Paul Reuben... But it was so good! From the delicious sauce to the sweet crispy dutch crunch roll... To this day I still crave that sandwich
Today I bought a Paul Ruben & Matt Cane and there was one slice of meat plus other condiments. The Ruben was $16.95 & the Cane was $14.95. What a rip off. I will definitely NOT be going back!!!
So today 5/18/22 I ordered 2 Hot mamas and 1 Dr pepper, and a bag of chips. One sandwich i ordered with jalapeños and didn't get them which i could have lived with if only the second sandwich was eatable. I ordered that one with avocado and the sandwich was slathered in so much buffalo sauce and avocado that the bread was falling apart and the wrapper was drenched. I will never order from this Ike’s again. Whats even more frustrating is I tried calling many many times and no answer.
Called the Vallejo store today to place a pick-up order for 13 sandwiches, like we've done dozens of time before, sometimes multiple times a month, with absolutely no issues. I was told by the Shift Lead that they couldn't take the order because it's considered catering and needs to be submitted online a couple days in advance, that they had two catering orders already and they needed five hours to make these sandwiches, even though I explained I didn't need them for about 45 minutes or so. I explained to her that we've never been told this, to which she replied that the store is under new management and this is the policy. She then told me she couldn't help me, instead of offering to still take our order this one time, but that in the future we would need to place this order online a day or two prior to when we need it. I've never had an issue with customer service at this store up until today. This Ike's store has now lost our business.
I am a regular customer. I always order the same Sandwich. The Artichoke Sometimes I’m A Vegetarian. Tonight I was shocked it was horrible. I always get the free bees except for jalapeños This had nothing I ordered even the artichoke. But it had jalapeños
Waiting time a bit longer than usual. Brought two new guests with me, was surprised that they didn’t receive a free bag of chips (as I did when I first came to Ike’s). Otherwise, flavor and texture were on point as usual. Friendly service. Clean bathroom. Thanks!
Have ordered here 15x times since moving to Vtown. Always made the way I request. Consistent production times. Friendly staff. Fresh bread. Decently clean place. Usually plays good music.
Huge selection of sandwiches and you can order custom sandwiches. Several vegetarian options as well and many other standard sandwiches can be made vegetarian.
