Edited the original review:We did give this place a try again and I'm increasing my review from 1 star to 3 stars.I had the chicken and ribs and the ribs were cooked to perfection, but the white meat chicken was overcooked and dry, but the dark meat was perfect. The mashed potatoes and gravy was cold. But the food was very reasonably priced! Our server wasn't very friendly but we couldn't tell if it was just their personality or if it was because they were super busy.I will go back to this place. You could easily have a decent dinner for two people here for around $50..........Showed up to this place to have dinner, the guy at the door was very short with us when we told him we were dining in.They were no longer seating anyone, which wasn't a big deal, but don't be mean about it.The food smelled amazing though, and I will give them another try. So while this review is currently only one star I will change it if the next visit is better
OMG food is delicious! Went for the 1st time with a friend from work and we both loved it. Meat was full of flavor and tender. Sides were also good. Like the paper bowls for the sides but did not like that the take out was in styrofoam. Good iced tea and lemonade. Lots of parking, looks like they have a parking lot. Staff were masked and efficient.
It was super good! The server was so sweet!! The sweet tea was great and the meat was perfect! I didn't love a couple of the sides but on the stuff that mattered it was great! Also the ambiance was perfect!! Super good place to go with your family!! We will go again and get the brisket or ribs!!
Got the Pit Master, a sampler of all the meats. Pulled pork & chicken were just okay, a bit dry. Ribs were burnt tough on the edge but good deeper in. Brisket had good flavor and proper fat/moisture content. Hot link sneaks up on you but isn't too hot. Sides (we got slaw & mashers/gravy) were good but quantity was relatively small considering meal is supposed to be good for 2 people. Service was medium slow.
Had my mom's 80th bday in the outdoor patio due to COVID. It turned out great. My cousin added his finishing touches to back patio and it was awesome.
Ordered full slab of ribs ($32). Half were good, the other half were too dry to eat. BBQ sauce was great. Young, heavy set lady with dark hair was not customer service friendly when asked questions about the menu.
A recent, stupendous discovery. Gracie's offer fabulous BBQ. The burnt ends are incredible. The pulled pork plate huge and delicious. Swamp juice is real good to match. Prep time is short so delivery via food apps is short, hot and consistent. Always looking forward to my next Gracie's order!!
Gracie's BBQ is by far one of my favorite places to get food in Vallejo. During the pandemic we've been doing take out only but pre-pandemic we dubbed in. Post pandemic , if we will ever experience such a thing, we will definitely go back in to enjoy a meal out on the covered Lanai area. The staff are always pleasant and the food never disappoints and the price is on point. When people come to visit us we always take them to Gracie's or we order Gracie's for takeout and enjoy it at home.
I recently visited California and had the opportunity to eat Gracie’s BBQ. As a Texan I’m pretty picky about BBQ. Gracie’s had the best BBQ I have had in California. The brisket and chicken were good. I’ve heard good reviews on the ribs and tri tip too. The sauce was different than what we have in Texas but I liked it. Customer Service was outstanding. Give them a try.
Ken catered for our wedding. We had 115 guests total at a private residence in Napa. He offers the entire service - food, chafing dishes, plates, utensils, napkins, and staff. Many of our guests were astounded by the quality of food that he served, specifically stating that the ribs were the best they've ever had. Working with Ken, you don't just place an order. He takes the time to really be involved and think about what would taste best and work best for your event. For example, Ken even ardently elected to boil the corn on the cob on site - going the extra mile to deliver only the freshest. We're so happy he recommended the ribs, as the taste improves with time - perfect for the transit. Even in my white dress, it's the only thing I wanted to eat (not a single stain I might add). Our guests also fell in love with his cornbread. Having them served as personal proportions was really convenient. Lastly, I want to add that we did all of our planning out of state. Through phone calls and emails, Ken made all the preparation painless. He's very flexible as well, only needing a couple weeks to prepare for your event. He even let us finalize our numbers a week beforehand. If you're looking to satisfy and wow your guests, Gracie's is an exceptional choice. Ken's the guy you want taking care of you because he's a man of his word and his cooking makes everyone noticeably happy. Gracie's will always remind us of our wedding, but the next time around, since Ken really came to us, we'll gladly go to him at his magical restaurant for some magical ribs.
