This is one of my new favorite places in Vacaville California! I was here and eat here on a Sunday which is a little bit unusual for me. They had a sundae brunch going on and I had the crabcake Benedict and it was something that I will never forget it was so incredibly delicious! I would definitely have it again. My wife ordered the same thing and she was thrilled with it. On top of the great food our waitress was one of the best waitresses that we could’ve ever asked for I can’t remember her name but she was so kind and so friendly. Never once did she not have a smile on her face when she was interacting with us thank you for a great dining experience and delicious food!

Got there around 8:30 and sat in the bar area where even though it was not very crowded, it was ridiculous noisy to the point you virtually had to yell to be heard by the person next to you. Had the special seafood pasta and that was very, very good but the service was so awful, we had to desperately try to get our waiter’s attention away from a table of girls he seemed to want to work exclusively. Would run out of drinks, needed ketchup, wanted the check and could not get his attention. Enjoyed the food but the service and noise makes the experience not really all that worth it.

The service was good didn't have to wait I was disappointed in the special ,it was a New York steak for 35 bucks came with one baked potato and a salad and that was it .I'll never order a steak from them again it wasn't worth 35 bucks. My wife ordered a salmon that was really really small piece overcooked. We had an appetizer of fried oysters they were done perfectly. I didn't give it many stars because of the steak and the salmon. We will try them again at a later date our total bill was almost $100 and they could have done better. I hope this helps people out I'm sure that other people that have dined there have had wonderful experience but I was not impressed with the food.

The appetizer was delicious. I had fish tacos as the entree. The taco consisted of a tiny piece of fish swimming in cabbage and some sauce. I asked for some salsa as there was so much cabbage. It didn't taste bad it was just not your average taco.My husband had a burger and he said it was a decent burger. Service was friendly but they were short staffed.

One of the worst dining experiences I've ever had.The table I was seated in was very dirty and sticky, with salt all over it. Our server asked what I wanted to drink. I asked her about the non-alcoholic options, and she said she can turn any of the drinks into non-alcoholic ones. I ultimately decided to just get root beer. She came back a few minutes later and asked me what I wanted to drink AGAIN. I told her I still wanted root beer (she didn't write this down, so it's not totally surprising that she forgot). For my main meal, I ordered the Bistro Beef Tenderloin. I asked the meat to be cooked medium, and I ordered two sides, Caesar salad and French fries. Soon after, one of the chefs came out to serve my Caesar salad (instead of my server). The salad had an unusually high amount of cheese on top, and it tasted a little bit sour. Ten minutes later, I received my meal. Instead of having French fries, it had mashed potatoes that looked and tasted like it had been sitting out for a while. The meat, when I cut it initially, looked fine. But as I cut further into it, I noticed the meat was extremely juicy, but the juice looked very red, like blood. The meat also looked like it wasn't cooked much at all (it was basically rare in the center, and had a funny taste).I forwarded my concerns to my waitress. She told me that everything I ordered would be free and offered to take it back and have it made right. At this point, I no longer trusted anyone or anything in the restaurant, and I walked out without finishing my meal.As a Vacaville native, I had passed by this place numerous times, and I had wanted to try this place for many years (basically since I was a kid). This place had been very popular for as long as I can remember, and remains so to this day. But based on my experience, I really don't know why that is.Plenty of people will probably say otherwise, but Merchant and Main is an embarrassment to the city of Vacaville. It needs a complete makeover, or to be shut down.

Generally pretty good when a manager is present. Unfortunately we had dinner on a night that the manager was unavailable. The servers decided to have a little party in the booth next to us along with their rowdy teenage friends. It made for a terrible dining experience. Other that that, the food is good and the prices are reasonable. Most of the time, this is a pretty decent restaurant.

Went to their Saturday brunch. Very dissatisfied. Ordered the Main Street burger medium. It came late and well done and dry. Commented on it and the waitress was very apologetic. It’s not her fault. No manager addressed the issue. They just don’t care anymore. I don’t think I’ll be back and make sure all social media knows it’s gone down hill.

This place has really gone downhill the last year. The staff seems uninterested in seating parties. The wait always takes at least 25 minutes to be seated even though there are open tables. The prices have been consistently going up and they continue to get rid of specials and all the reasons I had for going. The front wait reception can is poorly managed and they often leave guests confused as to how they get or table or why they are waiting. One person usually runs the host stand and they are so overwhelmed with handing takeout orders, parties checks and checking people in that they have no time to communicate with the rest of the restaurant about parties ready to no, nor does the rest of the staff bother to come check either. It really is a shame what this place has become and hopefully sometime down the road they can back to what they used to be, but for now I am done coming here.

Great environment and great food!! It’s a great place to hang out with friends and to go to dinner with family.ADA: there is a ramp to get into the restaurant. The dining room can fit a wheelchair but is slightly snug as you wheel through. The bar has tables that can be easily rolled up. Make sure to park in the parking lot behind the restaurant. There are two Handicap parking spots. The front of the restaurant is off a main road and is not easily accessible.

Our family favorite for eating out in downtown Vacaville. There is something for everyone! We are not big fried-food eaters, but you HAVE to try the fried chicken strips here!
