Looking for a happy hour spot in Vacaville? The Buckhorn BBQ has several local beers on tap. For a large beer it's $7 during happy hour. The salads are freshly made and delicious. I would recommend sitting at the bar, so there's no wait. If the date is going good, walk across the street to the nut tree shopping center. Where you can window shop while getting to know each other better. IG: SACRAMENTOHONEY
Excellent steak, chicken, and pork with all of the flavor of the original Buckhorn restaurant in Winters, but without the selection. You won't find a true steak here, which is disappointing considering how incredible buckhorn steaks are, but you also won't suffer the steakhouse price, so you can afford to go more often!! The service is "order at the counter and they bring it to your table". The portions are sufficient but you aren't likely to have enough left over for a doggy bag (Sorry buddy!!) But they do have a full bar if you feel the need. They also have a walk-up pickup window so you can get your food to go without having to wait in line.
I haven't eaten in side however it is really nice inside. I did order to go and the food is soooooo good. The customer service was excellent. The grilled veggies are absolutely wonderful. I plan to bring my dad for dinner and eat out on the patio. Food is awesome.
Terrible value on a grilled chicken sandwich from food truck. Very small piece placed at outside edge of bun to appear satisfying. It was a thin piece of chicken tender...all bun. Even with the corrupt economy and inflation, it's still easy to make a profit on a chicken sando. Fries were rationed as well. We are all better served to make our own meals instead of eating out.
We don't live in this area, but everytime we pass through here at have to stop for lunch. I live their smoky BBQ sauce and their chicken crispy sandwich. We've had so many of their dishes and every single one of them were amazing. The staff are very friendly and they keep the place super clean.
Unique BBQ place for the area. Certainly enjoyed the chicken platter for lunch.
Please do not EVER take the lavender honey lemonade drink off the menu. It was amazing! It's my understanding you only have the two bartenders at the moment (I didn't get their names) but they were awesome. The food was great as well. However, I return to places that provided good customer service and we were very pleased. Any chance of making the VV location larger?
I enjoy eating here, but we tipped at the register when we should have waited till the end. Plates came out dirty. Many open tables, one that was cleared for us but the server forgot about our party outside. Utinsils did not come out with food, plates came out dirty. Butter knives were given when steak was served, and they were out of butter. Knives also came out separately from forks. Gravy didn't come out with mashed potatoes, had to ask twice for an amount that wasn't even close enough, we gave up. After we had been horribly served, the server gave us attitude. 3 stars for the food because it is always good. But service was horrible. Always willing to change stars, but as of right now staffing did make us regret choosing this location.
The food was alright at best except the cornbread muffin was very good! They have Burnt Ends on the menu but do not order them, they aren't actually Burnt Ends and are actually just overdone cut up steak. There is no possible way the burnt ends are pork with how tough they are. Overall I'd say if you wanna check this place out go for it but don't be surprised when you have the feeling of never returning. Edit : Thanks for the response, I would've appreciated that being stated.
After ordering online and showing up at the window right at the pickup time, I was told my order wasn’t ready yet and it would be another couple of minutes. My food ended up being almost 30 minutes late. I’m sure they are short on staff like everyone else. Next time, just give a realistic estimate or a refund or something. At least the food was ok.
