This is where I find myself whenever I’m craving XLB in East Bay. This is probably one of the best options available and it’s evident by how the restaurant is always busy. I noticed they have a dessert option for XLB. It reminded me of those chocolate fondue where you dip strawberries… it’s something I’d just try once personally but to each their own. Other than that, I recommend their pork and crab XLB, braised beef noodle soup, potstickers, and their sliced beef and tendon (no pics sorry!). Everything tasted great! The XLBs weren’t over cooked, which is the most important part. The price point wasn’t painful compared to other XLB restaurants. I can confidently give this place 5 stars.
5 stars is an understatement for how amazing our experience was. The appetizer, the food, the service, and the ambience were unforgettable. We got xiao long bao, dumplings, beef brisket noodle spicy, and a few other dishes. The spicy wasn't too spicy but they haveore Chilli on the side per your preference. Definitely add vinegar to your soup, xiao Ling bao, and dumplings to complement the flavors of the soupy foods you'll be enjoying.
I went to this place twice in a week because i loved the food that much. I cant wait to go back again. I have struck out a few times . So happy i found my go to chinese/dim sum. Everything i had was really good or perfect for my taste. My favorites were the beef/onion shumai, salt and pepper ribs, beef brisket soup.Edit: just went again for the third time. Each time has been as good as the last. My only additional comments are on a couple dishes we tried. I ordered the mongolian beef and the sweet/sour ribs both were good but i thought i should mention they are both very different from what im used to at chinese restaurants (mongilian beef was sweeter and spicier, and the ribs were much more saucy than im used to). Keep up the great work. Cant wait to come back again.
We heard a lot about this place and the wait for us was about 20 mins. We did get our food fairly quickly. The staff was very busy during lunch time so they didn't attend to us as well as expected. The food was OK. It didn't make an impression. Like it wouldn't be the first place that comes into mind when someone mentions dumplings. The dumplings were falling apart as we dish them out on our plates. The seasoning for the dumplings was either too plain or slightly savory. The tea was watered down. So the experience was OK.
As a vegetarian ? with omnivore friends, this is easily the best dumpling spot in the area! I loved both of their veggie dumplings, one was a typical sticky dumpling and the other was more like a bao. My favorite was actually the chow mein - I love the noodles here!!Service was pretty fast and the food presentation is also on point.Highly recommend and would love to try their new location in Fremont ?
Really enjoyed everything that we ordered. We got the shrimp and pork spicy wontons, shrimp and pork dumplings, pumpkin shrimp and pork shao mai, prom xiao long bao and pork belly burger. Super good and flavorful. The portions were pretty big!
We made a special trip for their Lunar New Year tiger buns. We joined the Yelp waitlist upon arrival and received a notification that our table was ready in 8 minutes. Unfortunately this was a lie since we got to wait an extra 12 minutes at the busy check in kiosk, were directed to a table, and then were told by another staff member that we needed to switch tables to accommodate another group on the waitlist. The waitstaff seemed stretched thin but someone did eventually come by to take our order and the food came out shortly after. Unfortunately the tiger buns were a big disappointment. I'm well aware that things never look exactly like the picture, but when it costs over $6 per tiger bun I expect a lot better than some caved in buns with a little taro filling. As for the actual meal, the shrimp and pork potstickers were oversalted. The Xiao Long Bao though were a highlight in an otherwise underwhelming experience.
The dumplings were good when hot. Other dishes were ok. Now I know do not order other dishes when the restaurant's speciality is in their name.
Everything was really good (besides the woobly table) up until the last dish when we found a bug in our noodle soup. Now we weren't mad, it happens. We just simply asked them for a new order. But all they did was pull the bug out and the veggie it was on and wiped it down and reserved the same dish.
Pork xlb were superb - nice clean flavor and lots of soup. I've been here several times and really like their xlb but don't like their other dishes much.Shrimp toast was very very oily. Fish dumplings were okay, but a bit too spongy. Garlic noodles with beef were surprisingly vinegary-tangy, which was nice, and the beef was very tasty but there was just too little of the beef.
