I'm not sure what it was but I left feeling not quite satisfied.. The service was fine, the server was friendly, the food was ok/good but not spectacular and the portions were decent. I had the clam chowder, which was the best dish on the menu and the calamari was good too. I don't recommend the shrimp cocktail. I would recommend this place mostly for their availability when other places have a 1-2 hr wait. Would I eat here again? Yes.
If you are looking for tasty seafood at a reasonable price, this is the place to go. I ordered the oyster skewer and the oysters on a half shell. The skewer was tasty, I didn't think I would like the pairing of bacon and oysters but for some reason it worked. The sweet mayo dip that comes with it was very good. The coleslaw was average and on the bland side. The mashed potatoes were good, on the salty side but it balanced out the bland slaw. The raw oysters were super fresh and flavorful, you can tell they were not frozen. On your way out you can buy fresh seasonal fish, crab, smoked fish and their chowder. I grabbed a whole crab to go and it was a real treat. For the quality of the food and reasonable prices, this place is a hidden gem.
Excellent clam chowder and swordfish

A family affair as long as you love SeafoodMy grandparents loved this location and visited often.I have visited this restaurant at least 8 times over the last decade, with and without them.I have loved to eat crab, lobster, and shrimp, for as long as I can remember. The crab cakes here are delicious, the lobster here is delicious, the shrimp here is delicious. I'm not super fond of the mesquite BBQ.My mother swears by the Swordfish here, she says it's the best she's ever hadMy Grandmother always got the Combination plateThe desserts are pretty good too, but there few.(My grandparents have both passed on, but my family has celebrated their lives and lives at this restaurant)
I've never been a fan of rice pilaf but with limited choices for your 2 sides I ordered reluctantly ordered it. Wow! Wow! Wow! Excellent! The best I've ever had. And of course the lobster skewers and king crab legs were awesome!
Delicious seafood. Fast, friendly service. Had the soft shell crab, potatoes and tomatoes all were fresh and tasty.
First time here and liked it... not loved, but just liked it...The Good:- Red Clam Chowder was a little spicy with big chunks of clams.- House salad was fresh- Loaf of semi-sour dough was big- Steamed clams were big and flavourful.- The service was kind and attentive. The Not So Good:- Kinda expensive but you'd expect that...- $75./pound for crab-legs is prohibitively expensive.- I wish they had white clam Chowder.- Salad didn't have any extras stuff... pretty plain.- The bread is not warm and pretty hard on the outside crust.- Steam clams were so big that they were kinda rubbery hard.- Clams broth lacked substance. ie: bits of greens or visible spices etc...Overall I was expecting similar to Hamburger Hamlet of the 70's/80's, but settled for pretty okay for today. I'll maybe go back someday if I'm wealthy enough to try the crab legs...
Top choice for decades. Great food at the right price. Get ready to fall in love. Enjoy! Salud!
