I put in 3 Stars not because of anything but just staying neutral on this after reading the comments provided to this restaurant and seeing the response from the owner trying to justify the wrongs. I only been there 2 times before pandemic and hasn’t been back for 2.5 years now. To be fair, if you are not familiar with this restaurant, this is not the mom and pop Chinese restaurant with basic ambiance that you patronized in the past. This is an upscale restaurant and their pricing of food reflected that. Therefore, do not be surprised with the prices of dim sum and entrees there, treat it like you are going to any upscale restaurant and be prepared to pay.Their foods and services have always been decent or quite good whether dim sum or entrees. Therefore, am not sure any particular incident that lead to all these negative comments? For the owner or manger of J Zhou, I recommend that you get your manager yo visit each table to ensure that customers are happy. If I paid mega price to eat at your establishment, I expect the foods reasonably good but the service should be impeccable! Otherwise, your restaurant cannot live up to upscale, you get what I mean? Just like hotel have 1-5 star ranking for a reason. The expectations that when you charged higher than other establishments, you are to make sure your customers have positive experience! Word of Mouth and bad service will ruin your business as times go by.

Excellent customer services. Their cleanliness is a plus. Delicious dim sim options.

Save yourself the trouble - don’t eat here!(J Zhou Oriental Cuisine)Taste is mediocre - Quality is poor - Service is horrible - Price is very high (Dim Sum Chinese broccoli $15…WHAT?) Rip Off!!! - Portions are small and meat quantity in a dish is tiny. I ate Dim Sum yesterday - today diarrhea. VERY POOR QUALITY! AVOID!!!

Decent dim sum place, service is good. But it's a little bit pricey.

Solid dim sum restaurant. Pricey but good tasting.

Price doesn't match it deserve.

Best dimsum in the area.

Came here with my whole family and we got a private room The service was excellent. The food was all presented very well and it tasted good. Overall it was a great time.

We go here most Sundays for dim sum. Super great food and short or no wait if around 11:30ish.Food is amazing. Standard dim sum choices where you order on paper. Food comes quick. Our go-to items are the shrimp dumplings, bbq bun, bbq tart, egg and pork porridge, mango pudding. We tried the soup dumplings but was disappointed so we don’t usually get those here.Staff is nice but feels very rushed. But never any drama. Just sometimes getting someone’s attention is hard.So far this is our top dim sum place in Irvine.

For the longest time I never understood the hype about dim sum. I actually only had dim sum one other time and it was a bit awkward since I had no idea what I was eating. However this one time at J.zhou has converted me! I crave dim sum! What’s not to love about all these different types of dumplings. Sharing is caring and dim sum allows you to eat a variety of dishes. Nothing more exciting and also filling to have so many plates of food on a table. Looking forward to trying more dim sum! Only caveat is you will have a full tummy and might need a nap.
