I've been coming to Jalapeños since they opened in Irvine. My absolute favorite Mexican food around. I started going to the Tustin one, periodically, but it was never quite on par. I haven't been here since the pandemic and was so excited to bring a group of people. Sadly, the quality has diminished and the flavor just isn't there anymore. Carne Asada fries was a cold lump of inedible cheese. The service is very stale and unfriendly. My standby, the chile relleno burrito was good, but not great. I'm wondering if it isn't owned by Fredo anymore, as he was top notch in quality and service

"YOU BROKE MY HEART, FREDO..."I have also been a loyal patron for 20+ years, but sadly, that ends today. The service over the years have steadily declined into straight up apathy for their customers.I work from home and have begun ordering through Doordash. The last three times I've ordered from them, the orders have been wrong. The calls to the restaurant are met with a "don't care" attitude and a simple, "Well, call Doordash and have them remove the missing item." Really? How about try to FIX THE PROBLEM. I just called today and spoke to the manager. I explained that my order was wrong. He tried to tell me that the order that they received was wrong...I brought it up on screen and read him what it said. He proclaimed that it did not say that on his side...Is...there...a glitch that would change the order??? (highly...HIGHLY unlikely).I told him that I don't want anything, just PLEASE TRY TO DO BETTER. "PLEASE. I am loyal customer begging that you TRY to be better. For yourself and for your establishment, try to do better." Sadly, I will not be around to see if something positive comes of it.

I always come here one of my favorite local spots to eat after work. However the fact that they let homeless hangout on their patio is just mind blowing and makes the restaurant look bad. Customers can't even enjoy their meal in peace. I understand homeless need to eat too but the restaurant has to draw the line somewhere as far as letting them hangout on the patio and not even be quick to clean after the person left ?

It’s been almost been 11 years since I’ve been to a Jalapeño’s. Still just as good as I remember. Super friendly and helpful staff. Location is super clean. Food is a 10/10 plus super filling.

Door Dash/UberEats. When I come in to pick up they want us to fill customer drinks. We are food handling certified. I explained but he refused to fill them. Very rude as well. I won't pick up from there again. I recommend other delivery drivers do the same

The only thing I'm mad about is I didn't try this place sooner. Phenomenally good tacos! Shrimp enchiladas are baller. Just great all around

Last week I went to eat there around 8:30pm i got me 11 tacos, i saw they were getting ready to close i know i should had said something when I saw the guy making the tacos cleaning under the to go containers with a semi dirty towel and than going back to grab the taco meat with the same gloves he was cleaning with. I didn't want to be that person to complaint as they getting ready to close. Sure enough, i got sick from the tacos i was throwing up early in the morning. I blame this on me for not speaking up and return my food or at least i should had asked the guy to change his gloves. The food is good but idk about $3.75 taco good. I don't think I'm going back again. Same towel they use to clean counters is the same towel they use to clean the cutting boards they cut the meat on. Next time I'll just go to super antojitos across the street, i knew i should had gone there in the first place.

Muy buena la comida muy buen servicio al cliente

I used to eat here regularly. Since the pandemia, the quality seems to have gone down. Prices have gone up. Service is primarily focused on take out, so the people don't notice the flavor and quality of food. I'm not sure I'll be going back any time soon

I never tried here before and my youngest like Mexican food. So I thought to give it a try. The price I thought was a little high. I expect it to be premium quality. I looked up at the huge menu they had to decide before ordering. When I went to the register and waiting for someone to take my order. There was six employees just chatting and texting on their phone. Totally ignoring me. I had to try get their attention to order. I order carna sada taco, grilled chicken taco, grilled fish taco, and a grilled fish burrito. I was extremely disappointed when I got home. The fish taco and fish burrito (filled mostly with rice and little fish) were fried. The caran sada taco seems ok. The chicken taco was dried. I do not coming back or recommend this place.
