Great food. Great service. We live about 201 miles away but every time we travel on Highway 99, we make it a point to stop here. It never disappoints. We love Vejar’s.
Service was no the best. We made reservations for Mother’s Day and right away seemed like we were an inconvenience because of our party size. We waited at the front to be greeted and got passed by at least 3x before someone acknowledge us. The waitress didn’t come to check on us much maybe because we got put in a little room in the way back. Food was decent but definitely not something I would go out of my way for.
Had a reservation. Was taken to our waiting table immediately. Waitress was efficient, got everyone's order correct. Good job kitchen staff. Getting the food made correctly and quickly! It was a GREAT overall experience! Great staff, working together, great hot Mexican food.
First timer here. Was in the area with coworkers and many of them raved about this place. So we all collectively decided to have lunch here. The place is very spacious inside and clean. As far as my experience, it was okay. We went in with a big group at lunch service was slow. We never got our refill of chips. Salsa was not flavorful, very bland. And what’s up with the homemade sweet and sour!?!? I’ve never been to a Mexican Restaurant that has Sweet and Sour on the table. So odd. That itself gave me the impression the food was going to be more Mexican-American. I ordered a Chile Relleno. Took forever to get our food. Many of the people I was with seemed to really like the food. So I stayed positive, well I hated it. No flavor at all, it was smothered in cheese like way too much. I ate it but I would never return. I know authentic Mexican food and this isn’t authentic. So if your looking for authentic skip this place but if your into Mexican-American food you will probably enjoy it.
Great food I've never ate in the restaurant itself but it looks awesome and has several different seating areas from what I seen when I picked up my food
Good place, very clean and organized.Very extensive menu with all kinds of proteins.Plenty of parking and great service.Very flavorful food and a great ambiance.We had from burritos to shrimp and all all very pleased.Good value too.
From the start the chips and salsa looked a bit off but I gave it a shot. The chips were warm I’ll give them that but they were stale it hurt my teeth biting into them. The salsa wasn’t hot at first but afterwards you taste a little kick so it wasn’t too bad. The restrooms were an inconvenience to me they are one stall and it’s a hit or miss. You go check to see if it’s occupied leave come back check again otherwise you’re there waiting. I was a bit worried about the food at first because of my experience with the chips and salsa. Wow was that worry blown away when I tasted that menudo. Menudo and pozole are both very complex dishes to make because of the juice and the way the meat is made which is why I usually drift away from ordering either at any restaurant as much as I can unless I’m in the mood for it. Was not disappointed by it in the slightest, I highly recommend getting your menudo here. The shrimp cocktail was also made perfectly. Shrimp not frozen and the amount of shrimp is great. The waitress left me and a man had to step in that was a bit weird to me but that is the least of my concern. They have tough stressful jobs and you are bound to run into things like that in busy restaurants. Drinks are served with crunchy ice !!! I’m an ice chewer so this made me happy Overall great time here ??❤️ (Prices are great) ——my menudo was a small size and the portion was a full bowl for $10 ——
Vejars is the first place I want to go to when I come to Tulare. Great food that has been a local staple for many years. I always need to get some sweet and sour to take home with me.

This place is wonderful. Located in beautiful Tualre California. If you don't know where that is. It's ok because you're not missing out on anything. But anyways I went here with my wife's family and we had reservations for 15. They gave us a nice little room all set up and ready to go once we got there. The food was pretty good. The service was outstanding!! The drinks were good. We had some tequila and beers. If you order tequila order it eith out the salt and lime or order it on the side because they'll put the salt in the shot and the lime on the rim. So if you want a straight shot that's just something to look out for. But great experience. Decent food very clean resturant and great service
