Unfortunately my experience here was horrid. We had to wait 45 minutes for our order. ( and we weren't the only ones). When we questioned them, they said they were pitting out single items first. We only had 3 items in our order. There was also a dad with his two children who was ahead of us who did not have his order when we finally got ours. I don't ever like to leave a negative review however this was beyond poor service.
Friendly service. Chicken gave me really bad gas. Other than that everything seemed good.
This place has gone down hill more and more over the years. Today topped them all. Went in to order. Lady came up dropped a tray on the counter. Then gave everyone food for 10 minutes then told me that tray was mine. I asked where the rest of my food was. She insisted it was all there. And it's not. But the big thing is the quality of food and tortilla has gone down hill like bad. Idk what happened. And y they dont care.
I grew up eating el pollo loco every week in San Jose! But since I've moved to Tracy everytime I have it the food is rotten, orders wrong or chicken tastes boiled and seasonless. I decided it's been six months since I had it maybe staff changed or something so I wanted to give it one last chance. Sadly it's still the same. Do not eat at the Tracy location. I tried over a 3 year period. Nothing changed.
Came in for the Dos locos Salad with taquitos. Not bad and healthier option. Service and food quality was pretty good.

It"s the end of the line for me. I will likely not return to El Polo Loco. Prices are high everywhere but I for sure not pay $9.99 for the Chicken Avacodo Burrito. Not only that it's a very small burrito. Best of of luck with deep pockets and to restuaraunts. I can see a some breaking point to begin. El Polo Loco maybe the first casualties.
Before you order make sure you ask how long it’s going to take to get your order. I stopped by on a Friday around 8pm and ordered a 12 piece family piece order. There were several online orders waiting to be fulfilled and raw chicken on the grill waiting to be cooked. It took 30 minutes to get my order and this was not disclosed when I ordered my food. There was a guy who left the place to go eat somewhere else after waiting 30+ minutes waiting for his individual order to be cooked. I’m ok to wait for my food if I’m informed before I order my food, not 15 minutes after waiting. What am I supposed to do then?
I like el pollo loco because it's the only place that offers chicken that's not fried. But it's becoming like other places where you get less food for more money. They have reduced the size of the sides and increased cost. The chicken is about the size of a Cornish hen and is so small. The chicken is good so too bad you don't get a decent portion even when ordering a 4 piece. Wings and legs are so small there's no meat. The sides are ok but the Mac was less so. It's stored so hot that the cheese started to separate and the dish was overcooked.
Will be not be eating there again the chicken is over cooked and dry...this place used to have very good chicken I don't know what happened.
