Island fried chicken, pork and cabbage salad are great
Really really good portion of bacon fried rice. Cooked perfectly with the bits of bacon just right! I look forward to dining here again soon. :)
The food is good don’t get me wrong but the portions for the price can be lackluster at best. The Korean plate costs over $20 and is a large serving of rice and maybe a small thin piece of meat that barely hides the mountain of rice they filled. This was also the “large” portion so I can only imagine what the normal or small portion is. Legit felt like I was robbed. Normally never had issues with the location but that was definitely bad enough to warn others about reconsidering this location.
Simply horrible service. We dined in and there were two other tables that were already eating. Took like 25 mins for the barely warm food to get on the table, reality is they spent most of the time handling take outs with our food sitting there and them switching things out not knowing what to do. Hard to watch as they were struggling to figure out what they’re doing. Not going again.
Do not expect this to be a nice sitdown restaurant as they used to have on Hawthorne, although the prices are as high as it was, now it has a fast food look but if you don't care about ambiance go to L and L Hawaiian Bar B Que a little further north at the Home Depot shopping center on Crenshaw, their prices would be cheaper, more variety of dishes, a little bit more decoration and week old Hawaiian papers. In fact if you want a place with nice ambiance AND food that is cheaper make an effort to go to Back Home in Lahaina in Carson, the only other with atmosphere like that is King's Hawaiian, which also doesn't seem like a fast food joint as most restaurants which serve Hawaiian food are, if only, Back Home offered a loyalty club like King, which gives you discounts and lovely birthday meal to it's members, sigh.Usually I read reviews, but I had a b'day coupon for King's Hawaiian Bakery Res./Local Place and because I like Dole Whip which they only sell at Local, went there and they had run out of the oxtail soup and this is at 1 PM and they only serve it two days a week!! I asked them to call Sepulveda location, they did and they had oxtail there but forgot to ask as to how long a wait, well we went there, got nervous as parking lot VERY crowded and a lot of people outside and the wait was 45 min, so left. Thought that this restaurant was the Loft at Lahaina, (got two mixed up) when I googled Hawaiian restaurants near Torrance, Back Home did not show up and this did, so since I was going in that direction went there and when I got here, the interior was so stark (and no customers, a bad sign) that I wanted to turn around and leave but since it was the THIRD restaurant we went to with a first date, too embarrassed to change again, but wish I did and not just have Hawaiian that day. As many have said, place is uncomfortable, chairs are like that in shopping carts when you were a kid (except shopping cart seats had padding), and as it was a cool day, did not notice lack of air conditioning, do they make it like that and so plain looking to get you out quickly, WHY???. as one previous reviewer said, this is NOT a place you need to wait to get a table. Although one other table had people, took incredibly long time to get order and food is NOTHING special and doesn't have some authentic dishes like lau lau, lomi lomi salmon. Gave it two stars as waitress was VERY nice.
Mediocre food, high prices. Chicken did not have ANY seasoning whatsoever. Shredded pork looks like it came out of a can. Macaroni salad would literally be the only thing I would go back for.
Good service especially during this difficult time and food taste wonderful
Bacon fried rice is super delicious ?

This is not authentic Hawaiian food but if you like haole Hawaiian food it's for you.Just not what is in my blood.
