On Sunday night my husband picked up lamb shank and spinach polo from here, this place was recommended to him. He picked up one plate for me, to share with my son, since it should be enough for two. The lamb shank was tiny and cold, (we live less than two minutes away) and my son complained it had no flavor. The marrow inside the shank revealed that it could have been fresher. The bread was super stale. There was plenty of rice, but it apparently had been sitting around all day, because the spinach had turned bitter so we could not fill up on rice after eating our tiny bit of lamb. I have NEVER been hungry after eating Persian food but this was close to inedible.Oh. The onion was FINE. (no bread to eat it with though since it was stale)To the owners: I see you received at least 3 one-star reviews this week (including mine). Something to think about.
It's sad but this is a perfect example of a business starting out with quality and then taking a complete U turn once established. The food used to be good and the service was never to brag about, it's a shame the food is no longer quality and the portions are less with missing items like grilled tomatoes and even missing ordered rice. The owner looks tired and doesn't seem to care anymore. The lady working the registers is tired and stressed out most days and they Never answer the phone. I'm done with this place. The only reason I used to go here was for the tasty food but that has changed and it's a shame to say the least.
Folks are friendly and the food is tasty. We've only done takeout but their selection of market foods is also amazing. Where else can you find red lentils?
Do not recommend here at all ! Many items are much pricier compared to their competitors like Hawthorne market. I wanted to return an item in its original form because of price difference and in its return window and the owner treated me really bad. He was so rude to me!! As if here is United States of Venezuela and a customer cannot return anything !! The lady who is one of the front line staff members, is also very impolite and unprofessional while interacting customers
This mart has a great catering food quality!! Even I was surprised with their hospitality. Because I ordered a couple of family packs, I expected 3 packages for each type of food. However, they put all 3 packages in a pretty big package!!The quality of their food is fabulous. They don’t disappoint you at all. Also, the pricing is fair, not expensive not low.Their foods became our habit every week.Totally recommended.
Employee not wearing mask at all, other employees with nose sticking out, lady answering the phone with a chin diaper. Customers just not wearing masks at all. Its a shame decent food, but nobody even talked to me as i was standing there to get my takeout order, other people getting served and i don't even get a "what is your name it will be x more minutes". I don't care about the service frankly not a big deal, but if you are cautious about covid-19 avoid this place, I will not be returning.
The best persian food ever, you try one, I promise you gonna love it and feel difference. I hope it stays like this. Thank you Fardad.
Saffron is a supermarket/restaurant with a great and very nice people. I have not tried their food yet, but I do all the Persian groceries here. Highly recommended.I have also had a tale out beef koobideh kabab which was great.
Saffron food mart is the best Persian/Iranian food mart you can find in South Bay. They have a variety of essential grocery items as well. But their food quality is absolutely great! Don’t think twice between this place and other restaurants around Torrance. Choose from their Kabobs or stews and you’ll not be disappointed.
